Thank you for your cooperation. 7 CAR WASH Thomas Jefferson Drive As you get your car washed, help the poor and needy. We receive 10% of what CTR parishioners pay. We regularly donate this income to LINK, S.O.M.E. and the Women's Shelter in Leesburg. As you pay at the carwash, tell them you are from CTR so we receive their donation. MOVING? If you are leaving the parish, please let us know by calling or dropping us a note. SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE Engaged couples must make arrangements at least six months prior to the date of marriage. All are required to participate in a marriage preparation program. Please call the office to make an appointment. SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM Baptism is ordinarily celebrated within a faith community. Please call the office to register for a preparation class and to arrange for a time for the celebration. SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION Confessions are heard on Saturdays from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the Guadalupe Chapel. OFFERTORY GIFT BEARERS What an honor it is to carry the wine, hosts and offerings to the priest at Mass for consecration. Families and couples are invited to sign up to bring the gifts at the Mass that they designate as their preference. AVAILABLE SERVICES FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED A sign language interpreter is available on the 2 nd and 4 th Sundays of the month at the 5:30 p.m. Mass. Along with the Masses, our parish has induction loop and receiver systems for the hard of hearing. The devices are located in the Usher Room. SENIOR GROUP The CTR Senior Group meets Fridays at 11:30 a.m. in the Library for Bring Your Lunch meetings or at a local restaurant on the second Friday of the month. MISAS DOMINICALES Nuestra Parroquia de Cristo Redentor celebra dos misas Dominicales: la primera misa Dominical es celebranda todos los sábados a las 7:00 p.m. y la segunda misa Dominical a las 12:00 del mediodía del día Domingo. La misa es una celebración comunitaria; por lo tanto participan miembros de los distintos grupos y movimientos de la comunidad católica, por tal motivo tratamos de no particularizarla con gestos que son propios de cada grupo o movimiento eclesial. 4 Sunday Offering - $18, Renovation & Renewal - $5, Next weekend our second collection will be for Catholic Home Missions BISHOP S LENTEN APPEAL Stewards of Christ Sharing Gospel Joy! The Diocese of Arlington is a vibrant diocese and we have been truly blessed. Yet, with this blessing comes increased spiritual and pastoral needs and an even greater obligation to help the many people in our midst who require our assistance and support. We are asking all families in our parish to support the Bishop s Lenten Appeal (BLA) to the fullest extent that they are able. Thank you for helping us share the Joy of the Gospel through your support! To date, we have reached 84% of our goal of $159, Parishioners have pledged over $134, to the Appeal. CATHOLIC HOME MISSIONS The Catholic Home Missions Appeal will take place next week. One way that this appeal works to strengthen home mission dioceses in the United States is by funding seminarian formation in poor dioceses. The blessing of seminarians places a financial burden on these dioceses, where educating each seminarian costs $35-40,000 per year. Your support is needed for these young men so that they might go back and serve their parishes. Please strengthen the Church at home by making a generous gift to next week s appeal. WORLDWIDE MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER WEEKEND Like in the gospel today, sometimes our minds need to be opened to know what God has done for us, and what he wants for us in our marriage. Deepen your communication, strengthen your relationship, rekindle your romance and renew your sacrament by attending the next Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend September in Herndon or 6-8 November in Herndon. The day will begin with Holy Mass at St. Stephen the Martyr in Middleburg and end with lunch at Camp Highroad. Attendees must register by April 17. ADDITIONAL SPANISH MASS BEGINNING 5/3/15 Through the years, our Spanish Speaking Community has continued to grow in the Sterling Area. MULTICULTURAL CHORAL CONCERT Deepen your faith through the cultural sounds of Catholic music at a free Multicultural Concert on April 25 at Bishop Ireton High School, 201 Cambridge Road in Alexandria. INITIATION RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS (RCIA) Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. Three weeks out from Easter Sunday and we hear again how Jesus Risen Presence causes confusion in his followers. They had come to know him in the breaking of bread, but he disappeared from their sight. He had come to bid them Peace even though they were afraid and the doors were locked. He asked for something to eat, so that they would know he was not a ghost. Finally, he showed them his wounds, but went further to explain how Scriptures had been fulfilled: that Christ must suffer and die, but be raised from the dead so that repentance and forgiveness of sins would be preached in his name. Our new and eternal life is not a golden ticket stamped on us by this event, but rather it is a call to continuing conversion and an outpouring of the Spirit to draw others to Him. The Good News remains as it did where we began: Turn away from sin and believe in the Gospel! Be therefore Risen People who forgive and are forgiven. Love one another as He loves us. We continue to praise God for our newest members: Yen Chau, Karen Mazzola, Jeffrey Mugford, John Smallwood and Minh-Chau Tran Who celebrated Sacraments of Initiation at the Holy Saturday Easter Vigil. FIRST COMMUNION PRAYERS Our First Holy Communion will be celebrated on Saturday, May 2 at 11:00 a.m. for 96 faith-filled students who have been preparing for their Sacrament in our Religious Education English based program this year.
