Gleaning Sweet Corn. Look for up-to-date news from SUMC media about SUMC participating in this contemporary biblical tradition to feed the hungry (through our local food bank). A Second Helping-Emerald Isle... Volunteers are needed to staff the food drop off site beside Bert s Surf Shop at the corner of Emerald & Islander Dr from 8-11am on either a Saturday or Sunday during the summer. Vacationers stop by our locations as they are leaving the island and drop off food. Volunteers will place the foods in containers or coolers. All you need is a chair and water. 9 CARNATIONS FOR DAD June 17, 2018 Is there a special Dad in your life? Swansboro United Methodist Women are taking orders for carnations for Father s Day (red in honor of and white in memory of). They are only $5 for each recognition with proceeds going for Methodist Women missions work. The carnations make a beautiful altar arrangement for services on Father s Day, plus you may take your carnation(s) after the 11:00 or 11:15 am service. If you choose to leave yours, it will be taken to brighten the day of one of our shut-ins.
