All are invited to attend. It will be from 2:00-4:00 pm in the Ministry Center. ANNOUNCEMENTS Artists Afternoon with Second Sundays will begin next Sunday, September 10 th from 2:00-3:30 pm. All interested in sketching, painting and/or photography will meet at SUMC s Bldg 1 parking lot to proceed via bus or car to a local scene. Bring your own supplies, snacks, etc. to share. No critiquing allowed, just enjoying an afternoon of sharing God s gifts with each other. Please call Jim Brewster at if you have questions. A new request from Manna, our hunger response committee... The response to our food pantry closet (Bldg 1, back hallway) has been helpful to families, but revealing another need. New families, and many others in the community, often need household items (cleaning supplies, toilet articles, baby supplies, etc.). So, we are expanding our Second Sunday requests to include these items. The next opportunity is next Sunday! Thank you for all you do to assist those in need! Mission Opportunity - Volunteers are needed to help distribute information at our new welcome centers and guide people within the church shortly before and after each service - helping our greeters and ushers make SUMC a warm and welcoming environment. Come be a part of Youth and make sure to bring a towel! SERVING is So EASY: with old SHOES.. We are helping a child at Richland United Methodist by collecting shoes which will help her family raise the $25,000 needed for a special alert dog to assist with the child s type 1 diabetes. Shoes that are gently used will go to other countries for use. Tie/band shoes together of any size-men, women or children. Place in labeled box (big one in hall of Bldg 2) or in a labeled box in the hall near the church office.
