Men, do you like to sing? Come help us praise God in leading the congregation in worship by joining the Chancel Choir. Rehearsals are 7:30 pm on Thursday evenings. Vacation Bible School... With an average of 133 heroes plus 60 amazing volunteers and a total of 161 registered children/youth, we POWERED UP for Hero Central 2017! Through the music, crafts, missions, science, recreation, and the bible stories brought to life, the children discovered their strength in God! The children shared their love for our Heroes, the Wounded Warriors, by making cards of encouragement and together collected $ to help a local hero! A special thank you to Harold Fulp for leading the Adult VBS Bible study. They had an average of 25 in attendance each night to study the letter of Philippians. The SUMC 3 rd Annual Beach Blast/Family Picnic will be Tuesday, August 1 st from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Emerald Isle western beach access. There will be hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill for you. Please bring a side dish to share. Come enjoy the fellowship and the beach! Our monthly Meditation Workshop will meet Tuesday, July 25 th, 6:30-8:00 pm, in Bldg 2, Rm LL37. The workshop will include scriptural and another form of meditation. This is an open workshop; so, everyone interested in contemplation and their personal spiritual growth is invited. Leader: Jim Brewster SUMC invites the public as well as members to Faith & Fiction, a series of monthly discussions on literature and religion. The Diving Bell & the Butterfly by Jean- Dominique Bauby will be discussed on August 28 th, 6:30-8:00 pm in Bldg 1, Library. A discussion guide for the paperback are available from Jim Brewster jamesbrew@juno.com. Our family would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude for the prayers, cards, love and support to us during such a difficult time. We are so thankful that all the prayers were answered.
