4 WELCOME TO OUR WORSHIP CELEBRATION TODAY. On this Memorial weekend we reflect on the wonderful freedom we enjoy living in this county. We know it comes to us at a tremendous cost of those who served and especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice. God s Word reminds us, The Lord shatters the plans of the nations and thwarts all their schemes. But the Lord s plans stand firm forever; His intentions can never be shaken. What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people He has chosen for His own. Psalm 33:10-13 We welcome Pastor John & Henriette Bylsma to our church fellowship for a couple of months. We are grateful to them for ministering to us. The Council wholeheartedly endorses the Pastoral Search Team s recommendation that we call Michael Ten Haken to become our next pastor. The congregation will be asked to vote immediately following our worship service this morning. Next Sunday our worship service will be led by REDEEMED. Redeemed is an interdenominational, double quartet of men who have been singing God s praise together since Please join Tom Hase, Joel De Haan, Norris Johnson, Tedd Owens, Bob Swanson, Ron Bergstrom, Dick Ahlberg, Russell Swanson and accompanist, Lois Roelofs, as we worship our Lord together in song! A Memorial Service under the auspices of the Milaca American Legion will be held tomorrow morning at 9:25 at the Pease Cemetery. Our Church Family We would like to extend a BIG Thank You to our Church family! Your thoughts, prayers, and cards were greatly appreciated and uplifting to our little girl Peyton when not a lot was going right for her. The love we have felt from our church family is so comforting and reminds us how Great God is! Thank You. Praying For The Church International WORLD RENEW RESPONDS TO OKLAHOMA TORNADO - A 2 mile-wide tornado with winds of up to 200 miles per hour tore through Oklahoma City on May 20, killing 24 people and injuring at least 240. World Renew Disaster Response Services (DRS) is responding in a joint effort with the Reformed Church in America. World Renew staff and volunteers are assessing the damage and developing a response plan. Please pray. Guatemala Prayer: Please pray for Sadoc Aguilar Palma who has been hired by World Renew for the position of Program consultant in Guatemala. Pray for a good transition as Sadoc and his family move from Honduras and begin their work with Vine & Branches and the Communities. World Missions: Christian Reformed World Missions partner teachers are wrapping up a year of teaching in international schools. Pray that they may finish well and have a restful, refreshing summer. Pray that teachers who are returning permanently to North America will sense God s peace and guidance as they pursue new ministry opportunities. Back to God Ministries International-Middle East: Please pray for our program listeners in Arabic countries whose lives are threatened because of their faith. Pray for their safety, but also praise God for the unity reported recently among Christians there because of persecution.
