3 Sermon Notes Thank you for allowing our nursery staff to care for your little ones so the worship of others will not be distracted. Pagers are available. Children are invited to participate in the Children s Message. When they exit they may join the Little Lambs (age 3-5) or the Worship Center (K-2nd grade). At the close of the service, please call for your child. Both centers are located upstairs, first hallway on the left. As a courtesy, please switch your cell phones off or to silent mode. 4 Welcome to Pease Christian Reformed Church! You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness and into his wonderful light (I Peter 2:9). This morning we gather as God s special possession to declare his praises through Jesus who brought us from darkness to light. Welcome! Pastor Michael will continue his series on I John called Walking in the Light. Today we will be looking at I John 4:1-6. We will also be participating in the baptism of Henry Dylan Moorlag the son of Dylan and Katie Moorlag. Next week, we will continue in I John studying I John 4:7-21. Pastor Michael s sermon discussion class will be in the sanctuary during the Sunday School hour. Everyone is welcome! SNL is this afternoon at 4:00! All kids ages 3 years 8 th grade are invited to Kid s Club, Cadets, and GEMS. Pastor Michael s ALPHA Class will center on the question, How Can I Have Faith? Everyone high school age on up is invited to attend. There is also a movie tonight for REC and REC Jr at 6:30. GEMS is taking a field trip! Tonight we will be starting out as usual, but at 5:45 we are going to load up into counselors' vehicles and go to the Milaca Elim Home. While there we will play some Thanksgiving Bingo, with the prize being some blessings mix we will prepare and package for them. Please pick up your daughter from the Elim Home at 7:00 pm. If this is a problem for you, please let Jessica know ( ) and we can make other transportation arrangements. Please pray for the Administrative Team as they meet tomorrow night. A Community Thanksgiving Service will be held at Zion Church, November 7pm. Pastor Marie West from Lighthouse Fellowship will be sharing the message. Offering will be taken for the Milaca Chapter of the Salvation Army and Feed My Starving Children. Grab your rakes and blowers and join us for a church yard clean-up next Saturday, November 17 th at 10:00AM weather permitting. We will be picking up sticks and leaves, doing some trimming as well as some other general cleanup. Many hands will make the job go quickly! 5 Come On Ring Those Bells! Our church has been asked to ring bells for our local chapter of the Salvation Army on Saturday, December 8 th from 8 to 4 at Teal s in Milaca. We have 4 shifts of 2 hours each to cover. We are looking for at least 2 people for each shift. If you are interested and able to help, please put your name on the sign up sheet in the office. You will be given all the supplies you need, and all of the money raised stays to help those in need within our own community. This would make a great family service opportunity! Mission Society will be packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child tomorrow afternoon, November 12. Please drop off your donations in the Fireside Room by 1:30. Thank you for your help. Vonda Terpstra will be serving lunch. Lunch with the Pease Bunch will be this Thursday, November 15, at the Milaca Park Apartments, 11:30 a.m. The menu includes: Roast Turkey with cranberry garnish, whipped potatoes with gravy, green bean casserole, bread stuffing, pumpkin pie with topping. Our annual Sunday School Christmas Program is scheduled for Sunday, December 16 at 5:00 p.m. Dort Brink will be leading again this year. If you are interested in volunteering to help with props, costumes, music, or rehearsals, please contact Dort. Pies for Sale! The apple pies are all made and ready for your purchase! They are available in the foyer of church! $12 for a great cause~our friends in Guatemala! They are also available at Ashworth Appliance, Country Sales Furniture, King Sparrow, Improvement Warehouse & Foreston Creamery. Hot Dish Luncheon: The Milaca American Legion will be hosting a luncheon on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 11:00-1:00 at the Legion. Adults ($6), 12 and under ($4). Proceeds go to benefit the Mille Lacs County DAC and other local charities. A Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Thanksgiving Day at the Milaca Alliance Church from Noon until 2:00 p.m. There is no charge for this meal. Please call to make a reservation. Meal delivery and transportation is also available. By the Community for the Community. She received her first doses of chemo this week and she seems to be handling the treatment well.
