3 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation (Psalm 95:1). Worship of God is both an opportunity and a privilege. As we gather together in praise, may we all, with heart and voice, bring our best before the Lord who is our Rock and our Salvation. May the living and Triune God bless you this morning and you worship Him. Welcome! Pastor Michael will begin a series on the Armor of God from Ephesians 6:10-20 today. The title of today s message is First Things First: The Belt of Truth. Also this morning we will baptize two of God s covenant children Ellenora and Chloe Sonnek. What a blessing to do this together as God s covenant family! Next week, the message with focus on the Breastplate of Righteousness using Isaiah 59: There will be no sermon discussion class or Sunday School classes this morning due to the MEA weekend. However, Sunday Night Live is still on for tonight beginning at 4:00! GEMS, Cadets, and Kid s Club will all be ready for you as will Pastor Michael s class on the Canons of Dort. We will continue our discussion on the first main point regarding unconditional election. Everyone is welcome. Your offering next Sunday, October 29, is for the Food Resource Bank. Thank you for your gifts offered last week, October 15. The General Fund total was $6,193 and the offering for the Building Fund was $868. Our Annual Congregational Meeting will be held on Monday, October 30 th at 7:00. You have received the 2018 Proposed Budget and information about new office-bearer nominees so please review it and contact any Council member or Pastor Michael with questions. If you are unable to attend, absentee ballots are available in the church office. 4 Please continue to keep Lil Droogsma s brother, Dan, and his wife, Marlene, in your prayers. Dan has been in the hospital for some time and Marlene arrived there last week after breaking her pelvis. Ms. Bonnie Smith passed away last week Tuesday after battling cancer. Bonnie was a long-time advocate for the poor and marginalized and a driving force behind Starfish Ministries and Circles of Hope. Many in our congregation worked with her over the years as part of her tireless diaconal work in Classis Lake Superior. Her funeral will be this coming Saturday, October 28, at Grace CRC in Inver Grove Heights. Cookies have been provided this morning by the family of Bob Hastings in honor of his 80th birthday. Please stay and enjoy fellowship together. Today is the LAST chance to get your tickets for the Youth Group Meal at Daddio s on Sunday, October 29th. We need to give them a head count on Monday. Proceeds benefit our annual SERVE Trip which this year is (tentatively) planned for Manhattan, Montana. Thanks for your support! ONE MORE TIME!! This Tuesday starting at 1:00 pm is the last pie making day for 2017! We aren t even setting a start time for the second shift as every time we do, the 1 st shift works so fast we finish before we said we would!! You guys are amazing! We beat our record and made 2 pies per minute last week! Many hands make pies fast! Thank you so much for supporting this project the way you do! If you can help please come at 1:00 or whenever you are able stay the whole time or as long as you are able! We will have yummy snacks for break AND in holding to tradition..whoever wants too can RING THE CHURCH BELLS when we finish!! The pies are really starting to sell fast now! Thanks to all who have already bought theirs and told their friends! Before too long, the 2017 pie fundraising will be done, just in time as the 2018 team is now set and plans are beginning to be made on how we can best help our friends in Guatemala! Lunch with the Pease Bunch, this Thursday, October 26, 11:30 a.m. at the Milaca High Rise Apartments. The menu will include: Oven Roasted Chicken, Calico Beans, Cucumber Slices, Carrot Sticks, Wheat Bread and Angel Food Cake with Sliced Strawberries.

5 Men s Time Out, this Saturday, October 28, at 8:00 a.m. Keith Ter Haar, the nephew of Steve & Anita Hubers, will be the speaker. GEMS: On Saturday, October 28, from 12-4:30, join us at the Terpstra property ( th St. Milaca) for an afternoon of fall fun while worshiping our Creator. We will complete the "Appreciating and Caring for Creation badge, as well as hike through the woods and take a prayer walk. We will join with the Cadets at the end for a hot dog roast by the cabin. Parents are invited to join us for fellowship and lunch starting at around 3. There will be signs to direct you to the cabin. Cadet Canoe Outing This Saturday, October 28, from Noon-4:30 p.m. Meet at Bud & Vonda Terpstra's home to canoe the Rum River, landing at the Terpstra cabin for a hot dog roast at 3:00. Dads and/or moms are invited to come. Let Dick Ritzema know (djritzema@gmail.com; ) for food planning purposes. You are invited to attend an Open House in the Fireside Room, hosted by the family of Lois Hanenburg, this Saturday, October 28, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. to honor her on her 80th birthday. REC STUDENTS AND PARENTS: Pre-Registration for SERVE opens November 1 st and sites fill up quickly! This year, the group is hoping to SERVE to Gallatin Valley (Manhattan Area), Montana, July 7-14, If you are planning and able to go, please contact Amy or Dylan this week so we can secure enough places. Each reservation costs $50, so it s important we have an accurate count as that money in nonrefundable. So please check your calendars and let them know this week! Thank you! On Wednesday, November 1 st several youth groups from Milaca, Pease, and Princeton are gathering for a youth rally at the EV Free Church in Princeton. We ve done this the last few years and one of the highlights is the goodies (bars and cookies) that the folks from Pease have provided. Would a few of you be willing to do that again!? We are need enough for around 200 kids and leaders. If you would like to contribute please contact Pastor Michael. Don t bake? We could also use several cases of pop. If you d like to purchase one and drop if off at church this week, that would be great!

6 Christmas Pageant What? Yep, it won t be long and it will be time for rehearsal the first one is scheduled for December 3! We are in a need a few people to help coordinate this great Pease Christmas tradition. Would you be willing to help put a program together or help with costumes?
