3 Thank you for joining us today as we begin our Advent celebration. As we remember the birth of Jesus Christ and as we anticipate His return, we join together to sing God s praises. May you be richly blessed as you continue to follow the Son of God who was born as a son of man. SUNDAYS IN ADVENT thank you to Rob Braun who will be leading us in the series, Thy Kingdom Come: the meaning of Messiah. Rob will be sharing on the coming presence of God's kingdom in a world in chaos. SECOND OFFERING TODAY GEMS/Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior The second offering today will be taken to support the theme development needs for our GEMS ministry. GEMS invites girls 1 st through 6 th grades to join them on the first and third Wed. nights of each month at Bethel. Questions can be directed to Karen Sartell, SEEKING GOD S FACE DEVOTIONAL We praise God for the multiple boxes of devotionals which have been spoken for. Wednesday morning prayer group is going to be using it every week and we encourage others to consider using it for your groups. Inside you will find a daily devotion and a Scripture that you can pray right from the Word. They are only $15 and are a great tool to unite us in prayer. Let us know soon if you d like one by talking with Norma at or jnhomestead@frontiernet.net. Payment for the book can be made in cash or check for $15. Make checks payable to: Bethel CRC and indicate Devotional in the memo area. Place your payment in the offering basket, the Treasurer s box or the Bethel Office. All men and women are encouraged to join us as we begin to use the devotional Seeking God s Face. Questions? 4 COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL IN PEASE will be performing their Christmas musical at the Pease Church at 7:00pm, Friday, Dec. 6 th. Terrific 3's will perform prior to the musical as well as our newly formed band. A free will offering will be taken to support the music program. We ask families refrain from reserving seats, although we understand why you would and love your enthusiasm. Bring a friend and enjoy the program. MINNESOTA CHORALE will be here at Bethel this Saturday, Dec. 7 th at 7:30pm. You can purchase advance tickets from Maureen Bartz (just across the road from Bethel). Ticket charges: Adults Advance $10; at the door $12. Students 13-17, $5.00. Students 12 & Under FREE. $30 Cap for Family (in the same household). BIBLE STUDY FELLOWSHIP UPDATE - Our last Presentation is Dec. 3 at 7:00pm at Central Lutheran Church, 1103 School Street. Prayer Requests: God would raise up His leaders and protect them from the fear and doubts that can come when answering His call. For Beth, my CS to have the opportunity to lead her In-laws to the Lord. Women to come to the last presentation, so women will be able to study God's word. CHRISTMAS DUTCH APPLE PIES! Help yourself to Bethel s kitchen freezer to one of the wonderful Dutch Apple Pies and support missions in Guatemala. Please direct any questions to Terri Baas, HOLOCAUST LITERATURE AND ART - Beginning January 20, 2014, Calvin Christian High School will offer a community education course, Holocaust Literature and Art, on the school's campus in Fridley (755 73rd Ave. NE). Using the lenses of a biblical worldview, explore the Jewish Holocaust through literature, music, art, and the personal testimonies of local Holocaust survivors. The 10-week course is based on the high school offering that brought teacher Anneke Branderhorst the 2013 "Courage to Teach" award. To learn more go to

Julie, Hermina s daughter is home from the hospital as of Friday night, is on clear liquids and will have more tests on Monday; pray for discernment for doctors and healing.
