3 Sermon Notes Thank you for allowing our nursery staff to care for your little ones so the worship of others will not be distracted. Pagers are available. Children are invited to participate in the Children s Message. When they exit they may join the Little Lambs (age 3-5) or the Worship Center (K-2nd grade). At the close of the service, please call for your child. Both centers are located upstairs, first hallway on the left. As a courtesy, please switch your cell phones off or to silent mode. Hearing enhancers are available. Please ask an usher. The flow of the worship service is subject to change.

4 As you come to him, the Living Stone.you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ (I Peter 2:4a, 5). This morning in worship, God will use us, his living stones, to build us into a spiritual house built on the firm foundation of Jesus. Welcome to God s construction site right here in Pease! This morning Pastor Michael will conclude our Summer on the Hillside Series with Jesus final words to us from Matthew 7: Next week, Mr. Dan Crapo, a candidate for chaplaincy ministry in the CRC, will be leading us in worship. Please welcome Dan. Pastor Michael will be out of town this week for a Classis Meeting and to spend some time in prayer and sermon planning for If you have a pastoral need, please contact your Shepherding Group Elder or Deacon. Pastor Michael s sermon discussion class will meet this morning in the sanctuary during the Sunday School hour. Everyone is invited to attend! The New Members Class will meet at 2:00 this afternoon in the Fireside Room. Classis Lake Superior will meet this week Monday and Tuesday at Lake Geneva in Alexandria, MN. Please pray for safe travel and a good conversation and deliberation for all the delegates of the 25 churches of our Classis. In particular, you can pray for Merlin Koppendrayer and Judy Vander Linden who are representing Pease. Pastor Michael will also be there representing our congregation as well as presiding as President of Classis for this meeting. The deacons gratefully acknowledge the September 9, 2018 receipts: General Fund-$5,557 and Back to God Ministries-$1,103. Your offering next Sunday, September 23, will be received for Partners In Education and on September 30 for the Building Fund. Our Church Family Congratulations to Maxine Carlson who is celebrating her 80th birthday today, September 16. Congratulations to Zachary & Ashley (Sikkink) Carlbom who were united in marriage in our church yesterday afternoon.

5 Dort Brink is scheduled for knee replacement surgery tomorrow. We pray for successful surgery and recovery. Mission Society will have their first meeting tomorrow afternoon, September 17 at 1:30 p.m. You are welcome to join this Bible Study group. RecJr and REC will meet at church this Wednesday, September 19. RecJr meets from 6:00 7:30 p.m. and REC meets from 7:30-8:30. Lunch With the Pease Bunch this Wednesday, September 19 th at 11:30 a.m. Milaca High Rise Apartments. The menu includes: Meatloaf, Scalloped Potatoes, Carrots, Wheat Bread, and Chocolate Mousse. GAP Announcement: GOD IS AT WORK! Not only has he provided WAY more apples than we could possibly use he has also provided the HELP NEEDED to get the job done! Believe it or not, we already have enough apples in the freezer for 800+ pies! Please consider joining us Monday and/or Wednesday evening this week to help finish the first step of this incredible project! We will begin peeling at 4 pm each evening and should be finished around 8pm. We will provide a light lunch to tide you over until you get home. We are so amazed and appreciative of the many people who have already pitched in to help. So far people have picked apples, peeled apples, and/or moved bags of apples from one freezer to another! There are so many ways people can get involved in this project. If you want to help, but the times we pick don t work for you, let us know. There are many behind the scenes things that need to get done too! Perhaps you can help by buying or selling pies?! Or maybe make or buy a treat for our snack break. If any of these things sounds like something you could do, please contact Julee Moorlag or Terri Baas Advance notice: We plan to begin pie assembly on Tuesday, Oct 2. More details to come! SNL begins next week Sunday at 4:00! Kidz Club (3-yr. olds K), GEMS (1 st 8 th grade girls) and Cadets (1 st -8 th grade boys) will meet as will our Adult Class using the ALPHA program training. There is something for everyone! Cadets: Next Sunday, September 23, boys from 1st Grade through 8th Grade will kick off the new Cadet year under the theme Be a Blessing from 4:00-6:00. Boys can anticipate great fun throughout the 2nd & 4th Sundays of each month in merit badges, games, Bible study and special events.

6 Women's Fall Bible Study begins next Monday, September 24 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room. Through this 7 week series in the book of Jonah, we will learn how Priscilla Shirer redefines interruption and show us how interruptions that God puts in our lives is actually an invitation to do something beyond our wildest dreams! When Jonah was willing to allow God to interrupt his life, the result was revival in an entire city. Each session will consist of a group discussion, followed by a video teaching. If you were in this Bible study last year, you are already signed up and a study book will be ordered for you. Women of all ages are welcome, please join us! The GAP Team will be traveling to Guatemala February 22 March 3, Please keep them in your prayers as they begin their planning and preparation for their travel and ministry there.
