2 We welcome you to Bethel Church to rest in God s presence today! Trust that He is with you as you wrestle with what life brings. THANK YOU to Jerry Van Someren who is leading us in worship today! Jerry is a lay pastor, receiving his license to exhort in Classis Lake Superior in While he enjoys filling vacant pulpits on Sundays, he is also employed full-time as Manager of Customer Service and Products at St. Croix Electric Cooperative, a rural electric co-op in Western Wisconsin. He and his wife, Bonnie, are members of the Baldwin CRC in Baldwin, WI. NEXT SUNDAY, Sunday, Nov. 3 rd will be a very exciting day here at Bethel! Pastor Arlan Koppendrayer will be back with us. We will be privileged to witness the Baptism of Andrea Henry, a member of our Ignite Youth Group, as well as her Profession of Faith, along with that of Brooke Jahnke, another Ignite member, AND Chuck and Phyllis Kingsbury, who have been worshiping here as a part of our Bethel family for some time. We give God the glory for His work in their lives, and thank Him for using us to bring people closer to Jesus. Rejoice with us on Nov. 3!! CONGREGATIONAL MEETING Tuesday, October 29 th at 7:30pm, Bethel Church. The purpose of this meeting will be to update and clarify how the Council has been fulfilling its duties and what it still has to do in regard to Pastor Cal's resignation from Bethel Church. It is also NOTE: 7:30pm Time Change our desire to hear from those present what it may look like moving forward. The Council would appreciate your prayers in preparation for our gathering and your attendance. In an effort to conserve energy we are asking for everyone to check to be sure that all lights and fans are turned off when you are the last one to leave Bethel Church. Over the last two weeks when Rae Ann has arrived on Saturday to clean the church, she has found the Gathering Place lights and fans on (on one occasion the door was unlocked). Please help us keep our energy bills low and our church secured. Thank you so much! THANK YOU to all who assisted with Kathryn Davidson s funeral last Tuesday! Next year, from March you can get to walk the places you ve heard about in church since you were little: Herod s palace at Caesarea where Paul was held for two years, then the top of Elijah s Mount Carmel - from which you can see the reason why Israel was called the land flowing with milk and honey... You will see Galilee, and ride it on a boat similar to Peter s; see the foundations of the house where Peter hosted Jesus and the synagogue where He taught. We will see the ruins of the Roman presence, the ruins the Crusaders left behind, the Pool of Bethesda, the old City and the Wailing Wall. In Jordan you will travel the highway Moses led the people of Israel on, and visit the ancient ruins of Petra. We will visit mount Nebo where Moses journey ended. We will cross the Jordan near where Israel crossed. And, of course we will visit Qumran and Masada. The hotels are excellent; the bus modern and reliable; the guide and driver experienced and secure; and the fellowship will be great.
