3 SERMON NOTES Thank you for allowing our nursery staff to care for your little ones so the worship of others will not be distracted. Pagers are available. Children are invited to participate in the Children s Message. When they exit they may join the Little Lambs (age 3-5) or the Worship Center (K-2nd grade). At the close of the service, please call for your child. Both centers are located upstairs, the first hallway to the left. As a courtesy, please switch your cell phone & pagers off or to a silent mode. Hearing enhancers are available. Please ask an usher. The flow of the worship service is subject to change.
4 On this third Sunday of Lent, we welcome all who worship with us today. Let us reflect on the goodness of God in our lives individually and as a congregation. As we look forward to another week of service for the Lord, may our worship today lift up our hearts and thoughts and equip us for working in his kingdom. This morning we will continue in our series on Encountering Jesus as we look at Mark 5: The message is entitled Encountering Jesus Care. Next week, we will welcome Mr. Mitch Vedders to the pulpit. Pastor Michael will be leading a sermon discussion upstairs in the Fellowship Hall following the service. All are welcome to attend. Pastor Michael will be out of the office March If you have a pastoral need, please contact your Household Elder or Deacon. Your offering next Sunday, March 15, will be received for Bread of Life; March 22- Milaca Area Pantry and March 29-Partners in Education at CCS. The Building and Grounds Team presented a proposal to the full Council to repair and repaint the sanctuary. This particular section of the church has not been repainted for 25 years, and it is showing normal wear, stains, cracks etc. This proposal would include repairing all damage on the walls and painting (two coats, the same color we have now) Repainting the ceiling (two coats)---install a new trim board on the peak of the ceiling where it is separated (cracked) now. There is also included labor to remove and install all the pews. We acquired two separate bids for this project to justify the cost involved. The Council approved the repairs at the lower bid of which totaled $7, (from a previous company that painted the upstairs) contingent upon the congregational vote to authorize this project, which will take this morning. Ballots are included in today s worsip folder with extra ballot available from the tables in the foyer. Members of the Building Team will collecting them after worship. Our church is participating in the 2015 Minnesota Food Share Campaign. For more than 30 years, Minnesota FoodShare has coordinated the March Campaign, the annual grassroots food and fund drive that provides more than half the food distributed by 300 food shelves throughout the state. The March Campaign is the only statewide effort where every dollar donated goes directly to food shelves to purchase food for the hungry. Your cash donations for the Milaca Area Food Panty are welcome until the end of March. A collection box is in the foyer.
5 Donations are being collected for the Frank Barzdis and family. Please place your gift in a sealed envelope and put in the offering plate or give to a deacon. The deacons gratefully acknowledge the following receipts for the month of February 2015: Community Christian School-$1,070.25; Benevolent Fund-$884.50; Hope Haven-$766 and Ministry Shares-$ Total budget monies received were $24, This left us $11, short for the month. Our Church Family I would like to send a HUGE thank you to the Pease Church Family for all the help you have given to my family. We are hoping things get back on track after Frank has healed from surgery. We want him back home and healthy. I especially love to thank Brenda Hanenburg, Tom & Kris Kiel and Mary Koppendrayer for being so good to us. May God bless you all. Thank you! Jessica Barzdis & family Please pray for Karen Bouma as she is scheduled to have surgery on her eye next week at the Mayo Clinic. SNL is tonight at 5:00 A light supper will be served and activities will begin at 5:30. The Faithfulness Household is asked to arrive early to help in the kitchen. We extend our sympathy to Marla Ruis, Shelly Ash, and Amy Boldt and their families in the death Marla s father, Allen Klumpers. His funeral was this past Wednesday. Alan Byker is recovering at home following knee surgery. Please keep him in your prayers. We rejoice that Dawn Stout was able to return home from the hospital and is doing much better.
