Ellen Cavanaugh will lead us in this amazing journey on Monday, February 27 at 7 pm in Bovard Hall. No ticket to buy but don t miss the trip! SACRAMENTAL FIRST COMMUNION - MEETING CHANGED Over 50 children are preparing to receive the Lord in communion this Spring. Please keep them in your prayers. Parents, please note, that the reflection date has been changed from Feb. 19 to Sunday, March 19 at 12:45pm in the church. s were sent home last week. BAPTISM PREP We are encouraged to prepare for every sacrament we receive. Super important when we participate in Baptism - especially as we bring a child to baptism. To help you at this special time, we offer our next Baptism Prep class for anyone anticipating the celebration of baptism in their family. Our next class is TODAY, February 19. March 19 is the next scheduled session. Call the Rel. Ed. office (ext. 12) to register. IT WAS OUTSTANDING! Last Saturday our Marriage Prep team inspired thirty young couples preparing for the sacrament of matrimony. Carole & Mark Shepard, Ashley & Eric Heinnickel, Kelly & Jeremy Urban, Laurie & Charlie Reese and Fr. Al spent many hours and much energy being present to these couples. It was amazing, outstanding and richly Spirit-filled. We are grateful for their dedication to this awesome vocation in 60 life journeys. We thank God also for the grace that leads young people to marry in the church and to the young people who follow God s way of sacraments. Food is also important to this day and could not have happened without the hands & talents of Barb Walls and Helen O Hallaron. With prayer and gratitude to all for a day well spent in this Church Alive!

LEVEL II FORMATION COURSE OFFERED A Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level II formation course will be offered at St. Fidelis Parish in Butler, PA beginning March 25 th. CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD SERVICE PROJECT For the next few weeks as a service project for our Good Shepherd children, we will be collecting items to put together care packages for the homeless. Please consider donating any of the following items for our care packages: Tooth brush/tooth paste Socks Wet wipes Gloves Granola/nutrition bars Tissues Snacks Chapstick Water And anything else you think would be appropriate. This year s retreat is on March 10-12, 2017 at the St. Paul of the Cross Retreat Center, South Side. Our theme is Make known to me your ways, Lord (Ps 25:4). DIVORCED, WIDOWED OR SEPARATED The loss of a spouse through separation, divorce or death is a traumatic experience. The Beginning Experience is intended to help people who would like to pass through the grief and begin to move forward with their lives. The next retreat is March at Gilmary Retreat Center. Come on Wednesday, March 8 at 7 pm and join us in reading, reflecting and trying to figure out the power of women in scripture. Lynn Hogan, retired school teacher and now student of Scripture at Bethel Animation Center, will lead the discussion. Bring a friend and share the power of women in God s story and ours. 40 DAYS FOR LIFE Pittsburgh 40 Days for Life will, again, hold peaceful prayer vigils in front of Planned Parenthood s location in downtown Pittsburgh (933 Liberty Ave.) for 40 straight days- every day from 7am-7pm starting Ash Wednesday, March 1st, through Palm Sunday, April 9th. During those hours someone will always be there, so please stop by and pray with us, even if it s only for a little while. This international prayer campaign to end abortion will be held in all 50 states at 367 locations, and 23 countries around the world. Come to Scripture Study on Thursday morning from 10 to 11:30. Gather with a group of adults to reflect on God s ways to shape us. No previous study required. Everyone is welcome! MEDITATION & PRAYER Months ago, some people looked for a group to aid them in meditation & centering prayer. Finally we have a time-2:45 till 3:30 on Monday!
