Robert Fasol, organist Fred Bock hymn 715 Rejoice, the Lord is King DARWALL'S 148TH Rejoice, the Lord is King! Your Lord and King adore; mortals, give thanks and sing, and triumph evermore. Lift up your heart, lift up your voice; rejoice; again I say, rejoice. Jesus the Savior reigns, the God of truth and love; when He had purged our stains, He took His seat above. Lift up your heart, lift up your voice; rejoice; again I say, rejoice. His kingdom cannot fail; He rules o er earth and heaven; the keys of earth and hell are to our Jesus given. Lift up your heart, lift up your voice; rejoice; again I say, rejoice. Rejoice in glorious hope! Jesus the Judge shall come, and take His servants up to their eternal home. We soon shall hear th archangel s voice; the trump of God shall sound, rejoice! Call to WorshiP What burdens your soul? What heartache is more than you can bear? We come before the Lord with joy, but also with sadness. Life contains a mixture of celebration and mourning, but God calls to us to draw near. We long for God s presence. When life is too much to handle, cast your cares upon God, for He cares for you. We come to worship and draw near to God. affirmation of faith As a family of faith, let us affirm our faith together. I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; The third day He rose from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

3 I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. (* universal) gloria Patri MEINEKE Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen. Call to Prayer The peace of the Lord be with you. And also with you. Rev. Keith King Choral Call to Prayer Ancient words ever true, changing me and changing you; we have come with open hearts, O let the ancient words impart. Pastoral Prayer the lord s Prayer Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Choral response hymn 130 MARTIN God Will Take Care of You Be not dismayed what-e er betide, God will take care of you; beneath His wings of love abide, God will take care of you. God will take care of you, through every day, o er all the way; He will take care of you, God will take care of you. All you may need He will provide, God will take care of you; nothing you ask will be denied, God will take care of you. God will take care of you, through every day, o er all the way; He will take care of you, God will take care of you. No matter what may be the test, God will take care of you; lean, weary one, upon His breast, God will take care of you. God will take care of you, through every day, o er all the way; He will take care of you, God will take care of you. arr. Life at St. Luke S DeDication of tithes and offerings Rev. Keith King arr. Tom Fettke He's Always Been Faithful Meagan Seubert, soloist Robert Fasol, piano Morning by morning, I wake up to find the power and comfort of God s hand in mine. Season by season I watch Him, amazed, in awe of the mystery of His perfect ways. All I have need of His hand will provide. He s always been faithful to me. I can t remember a trial or pain he did not recycle to bring me gain. I can t remember one single regret in serving God only and trusting His hand. All I have need of His hand will provide. He s always been faithful to me. This is my anthem, this is my song, the theme of the stories I ve heard for so long. God has been faithful, He will be again. His loving compassion, it knows no end. All I have need of His hand will provide. He s always been faithful to me. He s always been faithful, He s always been faithful to me. offertory DoxoLogy OLD 100th Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow; praise Him, all creatures here below; praise Him above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen. Rev. Dale Wood the epistle Therefore let any one who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. Therefore, my beloved, shun the worship of idols. (1 Corinthians 10:12-14) This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. Those are just some of the Bible passages that people love - except they aren t in the Bible. Many times, familiar quotes that we ascribe to being scriptural are not found in Scripture. Sometimes it is a simple mistake. But other times, it can lead to twisted theology. Join us as we separate fact from fiction - and dive into the meaning behind these wellintended sayings.
