Sometimes the words of a song inspired people to stand up for what was right. Sometimes it was the beauty of the music itself that brought joy. In scripture, music has been used to praise God, calm royalty, celebrate victory, and rejoice in times of deliverance. Music not only changes the world, but has the power to change our lives as well.

Alaska Mission Trip Informational Meeting Today St. Luke s is making it s fourth mission trip to Alaska, July This year we will be going to the United Methodist Church of Chugiak, Alaska. Ash Wednesday Ash Wednesday is an important day in the church calendar. It begins the 40-day season of Lent - a time of fasting, repentance, and refl ection as we approach Easter. Ash Wednesday Services are March 6 and will include a message of hope and the imposition of ashes. Rev. Keith King will bring the message at the Downtown Campus at 6:30 p.m., at the Edmond Campus at 6:30 p.m. and Rev. Connie Barnett at the Asbury Campus at 7 p.m. Dinner will be served at 5:15 p.m. at the Downtown and Edmond Campuses ($5 for adults, kids 12 and under are free). Nursery care will be provided (birth - 4 years old). Small Group Lent Study New short-term Bible study groups are forming now. St. Luke s has produced a new video study, based on the book of John. This 6-week Lenten study, led by, begins during the fi rst week of Lent and continues through Easter week.
