2 WELCOME TO ST. LUKE S UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. We re so glad you ve joined us for worship this morning. Our mission is to share God s love and bring hope to the world. We hope you leave here today inspired by a message of hope and ready to embrace life in the week ahead. While we have all made mistakes, they do not have to define us; Christ has set us free. We have been restored and renewed for ministry. Rev. 5 HYMN GALILEE There's a Wideness in God's Mercy There s a wideness in God s mercy like the wideness of the sea; there s a kindness in God s justice, which is more than liberty. There is welcome for the sinner, and more graces for the good! There is mercy with the Savior; there is healing in His blood. For the love of God is broader than the measure of our mind; and the heart of the Eternal is most wonderfully kind. If our love were but more simple, we should rest upon God s word; and our lives would be illumined by the presence of our Lord. SENDING FORTH Our mistakes do not define us; we have been set free. Living after death seems like the greatest impossibility, yet Christ was raised from the dead as a promise to us of life eternal. Easter Offering - Neighborhood Services Organization When you give to the 2017 Easter Offering, you will be supporting more than 50 different ministries of St. Luke s - organizations that bless the lives of others beyond the walls of our church. Today, we look at Neighborhood Services Organization (NSO) - a nonprofi t serving OKC s at-risk and homeless population. NSO provides housing solutions and teaches skills to transform lives for those needing help gaining independence (i.e. women escaping domestic violence, homeless young men who have aged out of foster care, etc.) NSO also offers a nutrition and education clinic for women, infants, and children. Virginia s family has been a part of St. Luke s since They are the saints on whose shoulders we stand! Canvas and Tunes Summer Day Camp Have a child between age 10 and 13? They will have a blast this summer at a Day Camp called Canvas and Tunes. It s a St. Luke s Children s Center Downtown program featuring art, music, fi eld trips, community service, and more. This fun-fi lled summer camp will run June 5 through August 18 and is available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is limited space available. The cost is $225 per week. A continental breakfast will be provided in the CLC from 7-10:15 a.m. The Lifelight Band will be playing in the parking lot, inspiring runners for the fi nal stretch. The Downtown Campus will not have the 8:30 or 9:40 Worship Services, but we will have one very special combined service at 10:50 a.m. in the Sanctuary. If you don t want to travel Downtown, the Edmond Campus is having a special day of events, including a kids Fun Run in-between services and a car show.

Passages Grief Recovery Course If you have lost a spouse, St. Luke s would like to help you through the healing process. You re invited to join a six-week Passages Grief Recovery Course. This course will be taught by Marla Cole, a licensed professional counselor, specializing in the fi eld of grief and loss. Kids Fun Run in Edmond On the day when Oklahomans Run to Remember - your kids can learn about Oklahoma City Memorial Sunday while having some fun. Kids from age 3 through 5th grade are invited to a Kid s Fun Run at St. Luke s Edmond on Sunday, April 30, beginning at 10:30 a.m. K-5th grade will run a half-mile that will start at the South Entrance of the church and go along the walking trail. 3 s and 4 s will only run a short distance. Everyone is invited to come cheer on the kids, or volunteer! That s when children (ages 3 through 5th grade) walk up and down the aisles waving palm branches during the Processional. It commemorates the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Join us for this special moment on April 9 at our 8:30, 9:40, and 10:50 services. All children who want to participate can come early to their Sunday School class or meet the group at the door to the Sanctuary or CLC. UMW Bake Sale UMW Bake Sale The halls of St. Luke s are going to smell wonderful on Palm Sunday. That s because the United Methodist Women are hosting a Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, in the Gallery.You ll be supporting missions by purchasing some of these delicious treats. Be sure to stop in early to purchase goodies for your Easter Dinner as well! Maundy Thursday Communion Maundy Thursday marks the day that Jesus instituted the Lord s Supper with his disciples. You are invited to receive communion and spend time in prayer at the St. Luke s Edmond Campus Worship Center on Thursday, April 13, between the hours of 7-8:30 a.m. and 5-7 p.m. Prepare for Easter with a Prayer Walk The Youth Room, Room 216, will be transformed into a special place for Holy Week. Prayer Stations are being set up for you to come and participate in a self-guided, interactive experience for prayer and reflection. The Prayer Stations will be open Thursday, April 14, from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. and on Friday, April 15, 8:30 1 p.m. The Prayer Walk will be open for an hour before and after the Good Friday service. Good Friday Membership Worship Service You have an opportunity to join St. Luke s family of faith during the Good Friday Membership Worship Service. On April 14 at 6:45 p.m., come to the Watchorn Chapel for a special service to become a member of St. Luke s. There will be special music, communion, and a joining moment led by a Pastor.
