Sometimes the words of a song inspired people to stand up for what was right. Sometimes it was the beauty of the music itself that brought joy. In scripture, music has been used to praise God, calm royalty, celebrate victory, and rejoice in times of deliverance. Music not only changes the world, but has the power to change our lives as well.

It begins the 40-day season of Lent - a time of fasting, repentance, and refl ection as we approach Easter. Join us for the Ash Wednesday Service on March 1 at 6:30 p.m. for a message of hope and the imposition of ashes. Rev. Dave Poteet will be bringing the message on this fi rst day of Lent. Dinner will be served at 5:15 p.m. ($5 for adults, kids 12 and under are free). Worship will begin at 6:30. Nursery care will be provided (birth - 4 years old). Impossible Possibilities Starting next week, Dr. Bob Long begins the Lenten sermon series entitled Impossible Possibilities. God makes the impossible possible. It is hard to imagine being forgiven for the things that we have done wrong - even harder to imagine forgiving others who have wronged us. Living after death seems like the greatest impossibility, yet Christ was raised from the dead as a promise to us of life eternal. The greatest impossibilities of life can be made possible - by the power and the love of God.
