2 Welcome to our parish...we are a community founded in a spirit of unity to serve our God through loving HIM and one another, always! Dear Parishioners, FJB s BLOG Happy Easter! Christ is Risen, Alleluia, Alleluia! What a wonderful day to celebrate our Savior s triumphant victory over death! Welcome! Welcome to all of our guests and visitors today. We are so happy you are with us and we hope you will find your experience with us a good one! Thank you so much to Kyle Lorek, our Music Director and all of his staff and volunteers who are part of our music ministry. The music for our Holy Week and Easter celebrations is just beautiful and helped draw us in to these wonderful celebrations. Thank you to Bob Perusek and the wonderful ladies who decorate our Church and help to bring out such visual beauty! Thank you to all of our ministers who assisted at the Liturgies. We are so blessed! Thank you to all of you who have come here to worship. You all are a vital part of our Masses and your presence adds so much. As you will see in the following pages lots of people have joined our Church this Easter. We have had several adults in our RCIA ministry and they are on fire with the Lord! I know they will make a huge impact as members of our parish community. Welcome! An awesome phenomenon we are seeing in our school is that a large number of our non-catholic students are asking to become Catholic. This year alone we have 15 children. Six of those children became Catholic this weekend at the Easter Vigil. The others have been baptized or will be baptized this year. This is a real testament to the great Catholic education and formation happening at our school. These children have all approached us and their parents with the request to become Catholic. One young lady told us she is determined to be baptized. Because of the weekly school Masses, the Catholic environment in the school, and the religion classes, these children have come to know Jesus and desire to be a part of His church. In addition, many of them tell us their classmates are the ones sharing their love of Jesus with them. That increases their desire to become Catholic. I have to say there is no advantage to being Catholic in our school, as everyone is treated equally. So this leads to me to realize there is a real genuine movement of the Holy Spirit here touching the souls of these children and inspiring them to seek this. Just awesome! It brings tears to my eyes. This is a real testament to the great teachers, staff, students, parents, and families we have in our school. We have much of which to be proud. Our school is nurturing new disciples by drawing children closer to Jesus! Next weekend is Divine Mercy Sunday. St. John Paul II started Divine Mercy Sunday, the Sunday after Easter, so that all might know and experience the divine and awesome mercy of our loving God. Our God loves each of us so much! He knows that we have sinned and welcomes us back through His grace. He desires to walk with us and even hold us up at times on our journey of life. He encourages us to seek Him. See below for the schedule of events for Divine Mercy Sunday right here at our parish. I strongly encourage you to plan on attending. Happy Easter. Enjoy your holiday! See you in Church! Peace, Fr. John Divine Mercy Sunday, April 23 From the diary of a young Polish nun, Saint Faustina, a special devotion to the mercy of God is spreading throughout the world. The message is a reminder of what the Church has always taught: God is merciful and forgiving and we too must show mercy and forgiveness. A special novena of prayer begins on Good Friday and continues through the Sunday after Easter. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, after the 11:00 am Mass until 2:00 pm Sacrament of Reconciliation 12:00 noon - 1:45pm Closing Prayer Service and Benediction 2:00 pm Saturday, April 29th from 9:00 11:00 am at Planned Parenthood Rockside Road, Bedford Heights It is a national day of prayer and protest against Planned Parenthood (PP) the largest killers of preborn babies in our nation! Join us as we remind our leaders in Washington to defund Planned Parenthood and stop the barbaric practice of childkilling in our nation! We, as Christians, are not to participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but to expose them. (Eph. 5:11) Please join us as we continue to expose PP and their evil works. For more information visit #ProtestPP or call
3 Faith Formation Ss. Robert & William Catholic School W e b s i t e : To foster student success, Ss. Robert and William Catholic School provides a nurturing environment focusing on faith, academics, and service. The Leadership Team and Faculty take our mission very seriously and work every day to form disciples. Our Catholic students also freely share their faith with their classmates of other faiths. By providing this nurturing environment, the seeds of faith take root and grow. This year alone, in addition to the 6 older students receiving the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist at the Easter vigil, nine additional students (in first or second grade) have been prepared and will all be baptized before their First Communion in May of 2nd Grade. God s blessings on: Isabella, Anthony, Jimmy, Talasia, Kolin, Gunner, Piper, Keila, and Daniel. Thank you for your support of our school. Feel free to join us every Tuesday at 8:00 am for all school Mass. Ss. Robert and William Catholic School is pleased to announce that we are now enrolling students from Preschool through Grade 6. Contact Angela Casey in the school office at for application and enrollment information. We are pleased to announce that during the Lenten season we are compiling an SRW International Cookbook, and we are seeking recipes from you. Since we embrace and celebrate diversity and focus on multiculturalism at our Taste of Nations benefit and our International Festival, we wanted to take this opportunity to collect your favorite recipes and share them with all. There are two ways to submit your recipes. You may pick up a recipe collection sheet from the Information Center in the back vestibule of the church, complete it, and return it to the Parish Office to the attention of Ellen Ivory, or you may submit the recipe online at Under user name or group login you will enter SRWCooks, followed by the password grape451. Recipes must be submitted by Monday, April 17 th. Up to three recipes may be submitted per person. Please call Ellen Ivory at , extension 230 if you have any questions. Thank you. Participating Colloquy: My Body & the Resurrection Our young adult group, Colloquy, convenes once more this Friday, April 21, at 7 pm in the Life Teen Lounge. Our topic is My Body & the Resurrection which will lead us into a discussion of why and how the human body is not an obstacle to God, but a revelation of Him! Bring a snack and a friend. Beverages will be provided. Contact Fr. Scott (frscott@srweuclid.cc) with questions, or visit our Colloquy Facebook page for more details!
4 Caring Women s Fellowship ENCOUNTER THE RISEN CHRIST We prayed, fasted, and gave alms and now we celebrate Easter joy! Our Lenten journey with CRS Rice Bowl ends as we encounter our risen Lord. We reflect on our brothers and sisters whom we have walked with in India, Zambia, El Salvador, Mexico, Ethiopia, and Hawaii. We commit to bring Easter joy to each person we meet in our daily lives. Don t forget to turn in your CRS Rice Bowl at Mass next weekend. Spiritual Happy Easter from Women s Fellowship! We are rejoicing in our risen Lord and know that you are also. It is a good time to tell you, keeping in mind our Lord s sacrifice and glorious Resurrection, that our Core Team is already hard at work praying and planning for our Fall retreat a day to nurture and grow our relationship with Him. In the meantime, mark May 13 on your calendar for our next WF meeting, at 9:00 am in the Upper Hall as usual. Newbies you are most warmly welcomed. Bring your mug and get a hug!
