There will be a second collection for the Sick Clergy of the Diocese this weekend. The Sick & Retired Clergy Fund is part of the Diocesan Charity which is to help and support our retired and sick clergy who are unable to support themselves when they are sick or retired. As a Fund we rely on the generosity of the Parishes and individual donations to keep the Fund in a healthy state. Another valuable help is to make a bequest in your Will; a Form of Bequest can be found on page 104 of the Brentwood Diocesan Directory. Your generosity through donations, the annual collection and bequests is greatly appreciated. 2 Praise & Worship Evening at SION Community, Sawyers Hall Lane, Brentwood, will take place this month on Sunday, 22 nd May, 7.30 to 9.00pm. Sr Magdalen Lawler, SND, author and retreat director, will present this session. We will explore the riches of Easter to deepen our prayer and our attachment to the Risen One. Trudy Westmore-Cox the founder of the Hospice has kindly agreed to come along to give a talk about the work of the Hospice. Teas/coffee and cakes will be available for a voluntary donation along with a Book Sale/Swap Table, Raffle prizes and kiddies play area. Ordinariate collection offerings are separated out and used for the support of the Ordinariate and their clergy. Join the CAFOD Team and take part in the Southend Moonlight sponsored half Marathon (13.1miles)Colou rthon on Saturday 2nd July. Setting off 8pm from Chalkwell Park, taking a scenic route along the sea front, through Chalkwell Hall Estate and Old Leigh Village finishing back at the park. If you or a parish group would like to join hundreds of other walking for charities and raise funds for CAFOD. Entry is 15 which includes T shirt and medal and covers administration costs by the organisers, Southend on Sea Round Table. There is also a Sunlight Colourthon during the day which takes a shorter route and is for under 16's and those who prefer a more leisurely stroll.
