Have you longed to tell someone your story about your relationship with the person you loved? St. Brendan Parish is offering a bereavement support group, which provides you with an opportunity to share your thoughts and feelings with others who are also experiencing a loss. This is a 7-week series each Wednesday, from April 11 May 23, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm in the Church Library. The group will be facilitated by Chris Gaines, Arlene Sullivan and Margie Inghram. When 2 or more people live or work together that is a community. OLD TESTAMENT RUTH and NAOMI Ruth chapters 1 & 2 There was a famine in the land of Israel. The crops were ruined and there was nothing to eat. A family living in Bethlehem had to go somewhere to find food, so they settled in the land of Moab. Their names were Elimelech, Naomi, Mahlon and Chilion. Mahlon and Chilion grew up and married Moabite women, Orpah and Ruth. The father and the two sons died. Naomi decided to return to Bethlehem. Life had been very hard for Naomi. She didn t expect either of her daughters in law to help her, but Ruth would not leave her side. Together they traveled to Bethlehem. Ruth found work in the field of a rich man named Boaz. She gained a good reputation by taking care of Naomi and bringing home the wheat she had gathered in the field each day until the end of the barley and wheat harvests. NEW TESTAMENT THE MIRACLE OF SEEDS Mark 4: What is more fascinating than a seed? Some seeds are so small that you can barely see them in your hand, but they carry the information to grow into a beautiful plant. Jesus loved to tell stories about seeds. He compared seeds to the Kingdom of God. We think we cannot see what God is doing in the world. Just like a seed that is planted in the ground, God is silently working in the world creating joy and beauty. Jesus told a story of a mustard seed, a tiny plant that turns into a large plant that can give a home to many birds. His disciples sometimes did not understand why he was always speaking about the world around them. He was teaching us that God provides. Friends help each other and enjoy each other s company. A family lives together and provides for shelter, food, safety, and education. Neighbors help each other much like an extended family. Jesus taught that all people are neighbors even if they are from different cultures. Alphabet Soup E is for Ezekiel who saw a vision of a wheel inside a wheel. (Ezekiel chapter 1) E was a grandson of Jacob, the son of Joseph. E is for Esther who saved the Jews in Babylon. PAGE 4

This time we re heading north to tour Paul Allen s Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum in Everett on Wednesday, April 18. One of our parishioners, Len Bagger, will be our own personal tour guide, providing us with fascinating history and story of the various planes in the exhibit. This tour will be of interest to anyone (male or female) who is a history buff..and even to those who are not. Following the tour, we will lunch at Shaun O'Donnel's Irish Pub ( th SE, Everett). Please meet in the Church Narthex at 9:30 am Wednesday, April 18. Bring $14 for museum admission and money for lunch and gift shop purchases, if desired. BRENDAN GARDENS Saturday morning, April 21, is the date of the next monthly work party on the church grounds. We need to do some edging, pruning, weeding, mulching, & general cleanup. Bring whatever gardening tools you might need. We start at 9:00 am and will end with lunch at noon. (Unfortunately, Fr.
