Our team is beyond excited and on our way to visit the township of Mangochi in Southern Malawi-the warm Heart of Africa. We are so grateful for the blessings bestowed on us at the Masses two weekends ago. We know in our hearts that the Holy Spirit will guide us and the folks at St. Brendan are praying for us. Our dream is to come home with an agreement of what the Lord is calling us to do in Malawi. Bishop Montfort Stima will introduce us to three different parishes and we will have to discern who is ready to become our Sister parish and build a relationship with us. We will visit an orphanage where our hearts may be broken, will travel to Lake Malawi called the lake of stars because of the way the sun reflects on the water, will survey the damage and challenges caused by the floods of February, and we will sing and dance at Mass Malawi style. We will visit Fr. Johnnie Chimwaza and will return with stores to share and plans for our future. PAGE 3

BRENDAN WOMENS BOOK CLUB May s book will be The Power and the Glory, a classic by Graham Greene. This novel tells the story of a Roman Catholic priest in the Mexican state of Tabasco during the 1930 s when the Mexican government was trying to suppress the Catholic Church. The characters are unforgettable. We will meet on Monday, June 1st at 7:00 pm in the Brendan House Dining Room. Questions? Call Berni or Anneliese at KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS CORNER The Knights have a tradition of gathering their families for a Corporate Communion Breakfast after the 8:00 am Mass on each Sunday that happens to be the 5th Sunday of the month. This Sunday, May 31st is such an occasion. The breakfast will be served at our Bothell Hall beginning at 9:15 am. Don t forget the Lum Family Benefit Luau on Sunday, June 7, from 4:00 7:00 pm at the Bothell Rental Hall. Tickets ($15 each) are available from the Knight after each Mass. This is a wonderful way to show love and support for the Lum Family during their health and financial challenges. PAGE 5
