2 NHCRC ANNOUNCEMENTS John Nydam is at the Platte Hospital to receive intensive antibiotic treatment. Continue to pray for God s grace and care. Can people be saved if they never heard about Jesus? This evening we continue our series through the Contemporary Testimony, # 28, as we look at Romans 10: Next Sunday (May 6): How do Christians deal with non-christian government leaders? In the morning we will observe Jesus ascension into heaven as we look at the Contemporary Testimony # 29 and Psalm 2. How are you really? In the evening we will begin a series on Jesus sermon on the plain in Luke 6: Happy Birthday and God s richest blessings to our senior member with a birthday this week: Gary VanderPol (May 2), Faye Noteboom (May 4). FICTION BOOKS: Check it out from the church library Many Amish themed books have been recently added including some that are part of a series (such as the Forbidden Amish Love series by Tattie Maggard). You can find some of them on the window sill in the library hallway. Also check the shelves for your favorite fiction authors (Karen Kingsbury, Lauraine Snelling, Beverly Lewis, Gilbert Morris, etc.) as there are some new books that haven t been listed. ADDITIONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS VBS at Aurora Reformed Church will be June 18th-22nd this year. We will meet in the evenings 6:30-8:30pm. VBS is open to kids preschool through 6th grade. In order to keep VBS going we need your help! We need volunteers for crafts and snacks. To have your child/ren signed up, or if you are interested in volunteering, please call or text Jessica Van

3 Attention Women: Sewers and non-sewers are welcome to come to the Platte Senior Center on Friday, May 11 to sew feminine hygiene kits for ladies and girls in countries where there is a need. Recently kits were sent to Mozambique and Uganda. There will be a potluck lunch at noon. Call Lois at or Jean at for more information. DCS Drama to perform Bad Auditions by Bad Actors Ever laugh at the terrible auditions on American Idol? Every wonder what is going through the mind of the judges? If so, you ll love Dakota Christian s performance of Bad Auditions by Bad Actors, a short comedy by Ian McWethy. Join our Casting Director as she strives to find the perfect Romeo and Juliet, only to find that each potential actor is either crazy, delusional, or both! And to top it off, her assistant is only concerned with his pizza date later tonight. Come to DCS on Thursday, May 3, or Saturday, May 5 to enjoy the show! Both performances will be at 8:00 p.m. in the DCS gym. We want to say "Thank You" to all who have been there for us in one way or another over the last 4 years. It is both exciting and difficult to anticipate a change and yet we feel called to Faith Reformed Church in Brookings, SD. The list of feelings covers a broad spectrum as we step out of one congregation and into another but peace is also a great part of this transition for us. We ask that you continue to support the ministry of Cornerstone as Pastor Doug De Groot and the other leaders seek to follow God into the future. The fields are ripe for the harvest and it comes with many challenges. We also ask that you keep us in your prayers as we say our "farewells" to the men inside the walls and begin the work God has for us in Brookings.
