Ask for God s w isdom and strength to be with this committee and also for our congregation to be open to supporting the proposal in w hatever way they can, be it monetary or in kind or w ith prayer. Lord Jesus, you have commanded that w e should take up our cross & follow you. Give us humble and obedient hearts that w e may carry your yoke w illingly, trust in you, and follow you in all suffering. Thank God for the people he has placed in your life w ho have helped you to grow in your relationship w ith Jesus. Pray for those at Resthaven Nita Jurecky, Ivy Prizibilla, Dorrie Materne, Les Scheer, Melva Jantke and Irene Schubert and for those in Lerw in - Monica Eckermann. Ask God to be w ith anyone going through difficulties, facing problems, in hospital or recovering from operation or illness. May His healing hand be on them giving them new strength & health. 4 Cultivating Mission Sunday 8th June 2008 Waking the sleeping giant putting wheels on your Mission Statement Guest Speaker: Tim Hein Tim Hein will be the guest speaker at both worship services and then will host sessions in the afternoon and evening. There will be a catered lunch and a sausage sizzle tea. Be encouraged to come along and discover different ways of using your gifts in the mission field. Please register with Jan at the church office for catering purposes. Registrations close Next Sunday 1st June Don t Forget You Can Still Help Murray Bridge Lutheran Homes is about to commence Stage 1 of our 10 year plan to expand our Retirement Village at Murray Heights. Did you know that by depositing your savings with LLL you will not only be supporting the mission of the Lutheran Church but you now have the ability to support the Homes. By nominating that you wish to support our Expansion Project to LLL, you indirectly help us when we need to raise funds. This process is called Earmarking Deposits and is completely safe. You still have control of your savings and retain your funds. If you would like to do this and help us, then please either contact LLL direct and advise them of your request or contact this Office on if you still need more information. 5 LCA SAFE PLACE UPDAT E Sunday 22 nd June at 1:15pm (Session 1)or 3pm (Session 2)in the JDHall. This update is for those who attended the LCA Safe Place Seminars in 2004 and 2005 every 3 years you are required to attend an update. If you have not previously attended a Safe Place Seminar there will be an opportunity in July to do so. Volunteers w ho workw ith vulnerable groups need to attend ( this is a legal obligation that w e as a church have to do) i.e. Elders, Leadership & Admin Teams, those visiting on behalf of the congregation, babysitters, youth leaders, Sunday school teachers, sports coaches etc. You also need to have a POLICE CHECK prior to attending if you have not had one in the last 3 years. 6:30pm Next Saturday 31st May 2008 John Dohler Hall Join us for an evening of fun and fellowship as we get to know each other better...
