It is great to see you again Pastor Edmund. PLEASE NOTE Next Sunday there will be a 10:45am service at Unity Steeple - where we will be led by the Christian Life Week leadership group. Please show your support for our Youth and come along and join us. There will be a sausage sizzle following the service - gold coin donation. There will be NO 10:45am service at Christ Church on that day. For the offering on the day please place your offering in an envelope to be directed to Christ Church any loose money will be directed to CLW Ministry. DONATIONS OF LOLLIES REQUIRED Again we would love to have donations of lollies (ones that children like) to be packaged up and given out on Christmas Eve. All donations can be given to Debra Colley or left with Jan at the Church Office before December 19th. Thankyou for your support. DONATIONS FOR CHRISTMAS HAMPERS Ladies Fellowship has already started the ball rolling. The hampers will be given to Teen Challenge to distribute locally. You are welcome to attend. HOPE STUDY GP Meet Tuesday 7th December: at John and Val Spencer's home at 6.00 pm for a pizza meal and film. GET INVOLVED IN VOLUNTEERING WITH GREAT BUNCH OF PEOPLE Murray Bridge Lutheran Community care is looking for new volunteers to help with English language practice: you choose hours and times to suit you Making Movies: you choose hours and times to suit you Baby sitting: Help another volunteer look after a few babies and toddlers 10.30am to 12 noon Tuesdays during term time Home work club: Assist our worker Tuesdays 3.30 to 5 pm Study assistance: Help adult new settlers with TAFE homework Please contact Thanuja or Karen on pm week days. Murray Piltz, Wes Herrmann, Mel Kleeman and David Pech spent many long and fun filled hours stripping discarded electrical wire, resulting in the sale of $ of copper. This amount was then distributed to Pakistan Flood Relief, Lutheran Community Care, Lutheran Media Mission, UCB Ministries and Peter Steicke's House Church Fund.

We are looking for A Chairperson a person (male of female) strong in faith, regular Bible reader & prayer participant who is able to keep us focused on what we are about Jesus. Persons able to help with 10:45am Worship Team. A person to help on Kindy Management Team ~Prayer Corner~ For use by friendship groups, study groups, other groups, & individuals. Always be joyful and never stop praying. Whatever happens, keep thanking God because of Jesus Christ. This is what God wants you to do 1 Thess. 5:16-18 Pray that this time of Advent will be one of reflecting and preparing for the coming of Jesus. Pray for mothers who find preparations leading up to Christmas stressful may they find ways to lower stress levels. Ask for God s protection for Christians who are in places where they are persecuted. Pray for each one of us to do what it takes so that others will come to know and share in the love of Jesus Christ. Pray for people to be filled with the Holy Spirit that they feel empowered to invite others into fellowship in their homes, building relationships that reflect Christ s love. Pray for those of our congregation who need special care & help at this time; the sick; the grieving; the lonely. Ask God to surround them with His loving, comforting arms and to give them help, healing and encouragement. 5 Living i Sharing Share your highs and lows for the week. What have been some big changes in your life? What caused them? Reading: Matthew 3:1-12 Read through using three symbols:? = question. = sun for when the light comes on. = arrow where Jesus is hitting the mark in your heart calling you to action. Talking it Over Share one of your questions. Share one area the light came on. Share one point you felt Jesus was calling you to action. What was John s message in verse 2? What does he mean by the Kingdom of Heaven. Discuss. What is significant about John s dress and location? What is the warning for us in John s response to the Pharisees and Sadducees? What is the difference between John s baptism and Jesus baptism? In other words what s the difference between repentance and being filled with the Holy Spirit? What is the last part of John s message? Elaborate. Praying At 10.02am or pm (Luke 10:2) pray that Jesus will send out workers into his harvest field, because the harvest is ripe. Pray to be used by Jesus, just like John, making a way for the Lord Jesus to come into people s lives. Take time to pray for each other, especially for specific needs. Verse for the Week I baptize you with water for repentance He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Matt. 3:11 Character Conversation Questions Am I listening to the Holy Spirit? Am I acting as a path to Jesus? What do my actions reflect about my relationship with Jesus? Where am I tempted to act like the Pharisees and Sadducees mentioned here? Have I been taking time to build my relationship with Jesus, reading his word, and praying? (each day for half an hour.) Have I shared what the Holy Spirit has revealed to me this week? How have I been an encouragement, helping people grow in their faith?
