Pray for the Kairos Team & for the prisoners taking part in the Kairos Prison Ministry this coming week. Thank God for our family and friends and how He blesses us through them. Pray for members to seek to be involved in the SA District Mission Conference coming up. KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY Tuesday 15th Oct to Friday 18th October. OR approach Jan at the office so she can add you to the roster. Someone from England is praying for this vigil perhaps if you cannot at this time you may consider another time overseas. WELCOME to the Fellowship Group from Tea Tree Gully who will be joining us at the 10:45am service today. We pray they enjoy their time with us and find the service uplifting. Lottie was 42yrs when she moved from the Riverland to Murray Bridge & was an active member at Christ Church serving on various committee s. Her husband, Walter passed away in Lottie remained a widow until she was 70 when she married Fred Kleidon from Chinchilla QLD & moved to QLD in The Lord called Fred home on the 14th of May 2013 & it was then her wish to return to SA & be with her family here. She is now residing at Hahndorf Residential Care, 1A Main Street, Hahndorf Phone if anyone whom she knew while at Murray Bridge would like to visit her. You are all most welcome. We are looking for people willing to man the stall in 1 hour blocks between 10am & 4pm. We are also seeking donations of cakes some of which can be cut in slices (bar cakes), scones, homemade biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar and milk and monetary donations for bread and sandwich fillings etc. Please call or text Deb Colley on if you may be able to help in any way or you can place money in a marked envelope via the offering bag. Donations can be left with Jan at the Church Office by Friday 25th October or at Gloria Pohl s (33 Long Is Rd) on Saturday 26th October. Murray Bridge High School Morning Tea Every year I organise a morning tea for the staff at the school to say thank you for teaching/caring for our children and for all the effort they put in behind the scenes to make a difference in some very difficult lives here in Murray Bridge. There are 3 ways you can be involved: 1 - Pray for our schools and all their CPSW's (Chaplains) that are representing our local Christian community. 2 - Pledge to bake something yummy for the morning tea. 7 CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL 22 ND -24 TH November Time is moving on and we are now seeking donations & helpers for the Christmas Tree Festival. We would appreciate your help to set up on Thursday 21 st November and to assist during the 3 days of the festival. Please let Jan know at the church office if you can assist. We are seeking donations for Morning & Afternoon Tea we need 500gm coffee, 2 kg sugar, 8lt milk, 2lt cordial, 500gm margarine, 1/2kg cheese, 7 jars jam (raspberry, apricot or strawberry) & 3x 600ml cream, & honey biscuits. These can be delivered to the office by Sunday November 17 th. Contact Jan Brodde ph or for more details. Biscuits for the Gift Table eg honey biscuits, anzacs, shortbread or whatever you choose. We need to package & label the biscuits so please bring in bulk (ice cream container) together with the names & ingredients for the biscuits. 8 A CHILDREN S MINISTRY INITIATIVE OF THE LUTHERAN COMMUNITY IN MURRAY BRIDGE Bridge Kidz is a children s ministry program For Children in grades R - 5 Offered Fortnightly on Fridays After School at the Unity College Junior School Campus Arriving from 3.15pm Child to be picked 5.30pm Bridge Kidz events Combine food, fun, games, music, reflection and activity. Dates for Term Friday, 8 th November Friday, 22 nd November Friday 6 th December followed by a tea. Due too many other events on this term We are only holding the above Bridge Kidz events All families and friends welcome. SA/NT District Mission Conference 'Love Comes To Life In Serving Our Community Saturday 26th October District Mission Conference, hosted by the SA/NT District & facilitated by Lutheran Community Care aims to inspire, challenge and encourage attendees by providing resources, stimulating new ways of thinking and inspiring people to dare to make positive changes within their community. The conference will be held at Concordia College, Highgate commencing with worship in the College Chapel followed by a keynote address by Dr Lynn Arnold. The day includes over 10 interactive workshops, providing a plethora of choice and a wonderful opportunity to learn how love comes to life in serving our community. There will also be time to catch up for a chat and to share in fellowship with other Christians throughout the day. For those who can stay on, we will also be offering a light meal at the end of the day. Registrations will close on 20 October (for catering purposes).
