4 Y G S On September 18, after the 10:00am High Mass, please join Canon Commins in the Church hall for a presentation of the St. Francis de Sales youth groups. At this time, anyone ages will have the opportunity to sign up for one of the groups. See you there! R W C Starting on Monday, September 12 the epistle side confessional will be inaccessible due to repair work. The ceiling will be repaired over the coming weeks. The confessional by Our Mother of Perpetual Help Altar will be used in its place during this time. W? Two things: (1.) The static reservoir which regulates the airpressure has begun to fall apart at the seams. Once the reservoir falls apart, the organ will not have the air pressure it needs for the pipes to sound. The organ will be completely silent. (2.) The mechanical machines (balance valves) that exist beneath every large pipe of our organ are made of magnets, wiring, and leather. The leather has deteriorated to the point that those machines no longer function, causing many of the pedal pipes to sound simultaneously. H? The complete restoration will be broken into three phases totaling $320,000. The first phase will cost $49,000 and will get the organ up and running once again. The second phase will cost $186,000. The third and last phase will cost $85,000. Update on the organ repair project: So far, we have received $24, in donations for the repair of the organ, which is 50.19% of the costs of the first phase, and 7.68% of the total project volume. Thank you for your generous consideration. O C The Oratory choir is looking for willing and able Tenors and Basses. If you are interested, please contact Mr. Nick Botkins at nbotkins@institutechrist-king.org. I A Our Insurance assessment is: $89, So far we have received $11, for this fiscal year. If you would like to donate, please use the envelope Insurance Assessment which is mailed out monthly to all registered members of the Oratory. P G Please remember St. Francis de Sales Oratory in your Will or Living Trust. 8 TO ALL OUR GUESTS Canon Wiener and the faithful of St. Francis de Sales Oratory welcome you, and hope that your time in the Cathedral of South St. Louis may be an opportunity to share in the tradition of the Roman Catholic Faith. Please enjoy the beauty of this building dedicated to St. Francis de Sales, co-patron of the INSTITUTE OF CHRIST THE KING SOVEREIGN PRIEST. According to liturgical tradition, and the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, Holy Communion is received kneeling and on the tongue. All visitors who are not of the Catholic faith are welcome to join us in prayer, but are requested not to receive Holy Communion. Because the reception of Holy Communion is the sign of Divine and Ecclesial unity, only practicing Catholics who are free of mortal sin, and in full communion with the Catholic Church should present themselves for Holy Communion. We pray for the full visible unity among all Christians. To receive more information about the Oratory or if you desire to become a member of the Catholic Church, contact the rectory.
