For the 9th year, the Institute of Christ the King Choir Camp will take place from Sunday, August 5 to Friday, August 10, Registration is open for choristers ages In the rolling hills of Maple Mount, Kentucky, the Ursuline Motherhouse in Mount St. Joseph will once again be the setting for our week-long workshop on Sacred Music. C P C B Dear Faithful, This year, the Oratory will again host two very important events: the Annual Priest Retreat (June 11-15) and the Priestly Ordinations (August 2). For the priest retreat the convent will need to be prepared in the beginning of June for up to 20 canons who will be lodged at our convent. I ask you kindly to consider joining our community on Saturday, June 2 (9:00am-12:30pm). That morning all rooms and hall ways of the convent will need to be cleaned thoroughly, and all rooms will be prepared for the arrival of the canons on June 10/11. Also, in preparation of the priest retreat, we ask you kindly to consider participating in the cleaning of our church and the beautification of the campus grounds on Saturday, June 9 (9:00am-12:30pm). We will have to ask for your help again later in summer when we enter the decisive phase in the preparations for the priestly ordinations. I know that many of you give us continuously very generous help in different ways. I am personally, together with our superiors, most grateful for your generosity. Especially, the priestly ordinations are a great honor and joy for our community and of highest importance for the Institute at large. Please reserve a space on your calendar and in your heart for the very important preparations for August 2. May God bless and reward you for all your help! Canon Michael K. 4 D S H F We are pleased to announce that, with the assistance of our friends at the law firm of Stinson Leonard Street LLP in St. Louis, a new legal entity, the DeSales Heritage Foundation, has been created. DeSales Heritage Foundation is a public charity, tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3). All donations made to the Foundation are therefore tax deductible according to IRC Section 170. The governing instrument of this newly-established Foundation provides that its purpose is to promote and support the restoration, preservation and improvement of our church building, an historically and architecturally significant structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We anticipate this narrow objective will encourage companies, associations and other entities that may not wish to support religion, as such, to contribute. April Update: the new DeSales Heritage Foundation has just been approved by The Boeing Company as an eligible organization for the Boeing Cash Matching Program! Within the guidelines of the program, The Boeing Company will generously match employee contributions to the DeSales Heritage Foundation. Many corporations match donations made by employees to a recognized non-profit, such as De- Sales Heritage Foundation. Your participation in your company s program could greatly help us restore and preserve our church building. Please inquire about your company s employee gift matching program and guidelines. On June 17th, 2018, after the 10am High Mass, there will be a talk in the Basement Hall on the theme: "Creation, Evolution and the Crisis of Faith." This talk will be given by Mr. Hugh Owen, Director of the Kolbe Center for the Study of Creation. He will sum up the traditional teaching of the Church on Creation, describe the challenge that was mounted against it by natural scientists and philosophers outside of the household of the Faith, document the authoritative response of the Magisterium to that challenge, set forth the terrible consequences of abandoning the traditional doctrine, present some of the cutting-edge natural science evidence that refutes the evolutionary hypothesis and confirms the traditional doctrine of creation, and explain why it is absolutely necessary for Catholics to defend and restore the traditional doctrine of creation, as the foundation of our holy Faith. Carlson, will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation and will assist at a Solemn High Mass at the Oratory on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 10:30am. The mandatory Confirmation classes will begin this Thursday, May 3 from 5:00-6:00pm in the 1888 school building.
