A P P J 2: V O L A 20: O F BBQ A 28 - S 1: C M C C P T Today we are celebrating the External Solemnity of the feast of Corpus Christi (June 15). At the completion of the 10:00am Mass there will be an outdoor Eucharistic procession which will lead us around the block on Ohio, Sidney and Iowa Street. A special section at the front of the procession has been reserved for the children who received their First Holy Communion last month. Please have the children meet Mrs. Hayworth in the main vestibule after Communion so they can line up. Baskets will be provided. C C 2017 R T! For the 8th year, the Institute of Christ the King Choir Camp will take place from Sunday, August 6 to Friday, August 11, Registration is open for choristers ages In the rolling hills of Maple Mount, Kentucky, the Ursuline Motherhouse in Mount St. Joseph will once again be the setting for our week-long workshop on Sacred Music. The generously hospitable facilities include air-conditioned classrooms and dormitories, a spacious dining hall and rehearsal rooms, and ample outdoor areas for organized recreational activities. Seventh Annual S C W August 11th -14th at Mundelein Seminary Sursum Corda is a nationwide initiative to foster the spiritual lives of the young adults in the apostolates of the Institute of Christ the King. For the seventh year in a row, Sursum Corda is offering a social and spiritual weekend for young people ages 18 and up, August The event will be held on the beautiful grounds of Mundelein Seminary just north of Chicago. Canon Commins (Vicar at Saint Francis de Sales Oratory, St. Louis, Missouri) will be the chaplain for the camp, and several other canons are sure to be there as well. The program includes daily Mass, prayer in common and opportunity for confession, faith formation classes and discussions, and other social activities for young men and women. The weekend begins with check-in at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 11 at Mundelein and will end on Monday, August 14 at 12:00 PM. This year's admission fee is $250, which includes lodging and meals. **Your check is your registration!** Please be sure to include your name/address if it is not on the check. 4 S G W Our Lady of Sorrows and the Good Shepherd The prayers and generosity of so many of you made it possible for us to pay off the repair of the stained glass windows above St. Joseph s altar. Thank you! The Emil Frei company has already come to assess the repairs needed on two of our small windows: Our Lady of Sorrows and the Good Shepherd (north transept). Our hope is to begin this project in Fall The surplus of $2, from the last project will give us a head start on this new project. See image and explanation of needed repairs below. T H C W B From May 3rd to September 14th, using a relic of the True Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ, there is a special blessing which asks God s protection against violent storms that frequently occur during these summer months. It is customarily given after Low Masses during this time. S Y C Private campground in Wausau, Wisconsin For Youth Ages Boys: St. Michael s Patrol July 17-21, 2017 Girls: Company of the Immaculate July 24-28, 2017 OPEN TO ALL! During the camps we provide Catholic formation to young men and women by teaching them virtue, discipline, and love of God and neighbor, following above the spirit of St. Francis de Sales, who teaches that all men and women in all walks of life must aspire to holiness by learning to love the holy will of God. ACTIVITIES: include Mass, confessions, Rosary, faith formation, cooking contests, scavenger hunts, campfires, swimming, outdoor games, skits, music and much more. FEES: participation fee is $75 per child. A family rate of $300 is available to any family with four or more participants at either or both camps. Christus Regnat - Christ Reigns was recorded in the Institute s church in Florence in honor of Christ the King and includes Gregorian chant pieces and organ music. The price per CD is $20.00 and the money will support our seminarians in their formation. Thank you for your support. D P : Dear Parents, children are the joy of our St. Francis de Sales Oratory family, and your reward is great in heaven for generously accepting this gift of Divine Providence. When you have a crying child, particularly during the sermon, the canon of the Mass or when the propers of the Mass texts are sung by the schola, you are kindly asked to make use of the vestibules. You are also requested to prevent the children from running and banging on the pews. According to liturgical tradition, and the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, Holy Communion is received kneeling and on the tongue. All visitors who are not of the Catholic faith are welcome to join us in prayer, but are requested not to receive Holy Communion. Because the reception of Holy Communion is the sign of Divine and Ecclesial unity, only practicing Catholics who are free of mortal sin, and in full communion with the Catholic Church should present themselves for Holy Communion.
