4 CHRISTCHURCH FOOD BANK NEWS We were delighted to meet so many people at the Christchurch Community Event held last Saturday in the Priory, it was a huge success. Two new secure sheds have been erected at St Joseph s in which we can now store donations, this was made possible by a very generous donation to the CFB+ and the Army cadets and their leaders doing the assembling of the sheds. Once again we are appealing for store cupboard items, such as tinned tomatoes/ carrots/peas, tinned tuna, tinned meat meals, pasta and pasta sauces, rice pudding, jelly, cereals, small jars of coffee, tea and UHT milk. Anything you can give is truly gratefully received. Thank you too to all those who donate at supermarkets and by regular financial donations. You really are making a big difference to those needing help at this time. God bless you and thank you from all the Food Bank team. Jenny and Ken Parkinson BACKPACKERS HOLIDAY CLUB for children years 1-6; there are still spaces so consider if you can invite someone! We need to decorate the church for the club, and are looking for large flags ( of any country) we can borrow, and big maps, posters of trains- anything on a travelling theme! Also we are collecting empty corner yoghurt pots for a craft, so do keep them for us if you eat them! Speak to Heidi if you think you can help with any of these things. thank you. ECCLESIASTICAL PARISH OF CHRISTCHURCH PREPARATION OF THE NEW ELECTORAL ROLL Notice is hereby given that the Ecclesiastical Parish of Christchurch Electoral Roll is being completely RENEWED. All person who wish to have their name on the Electoral Roll will need to Complete a form. When filled out please return the form to me either via the Priory Vestry or directly by the 6 th April 2019 at the latest. Failure to have your name on the Ecclesiastical Parish of Christchurch Electoral Roll will mean you will not be able to vote at the Parish AGM, stand for a member of the PCC, Deanery Synod or Churchwarden. Fr Charles and Clergy Team in addition use the Electoral Roll as a means of identifying and communicating with members of their congregation, therefore, it is essential that the Roll is kept up to date. Data Protection - Communication and Consent for Pastoral Contact We would like to hold additional personal data, (your telephone number and address). This is to enable the Christchurch Parish Ministry Team and Pastoral Team to provide pastoral care. You do not have to provide this information to be on the electoral roll. Your privacy is important to us and we want to communicate with church members in a way which has their consent, and which is in line with UK law on data protection. As a result of a change in UK law, we now need your consent to be able to contact you. Robert J Phillipson, Parish of Christchurch Electoral Roll Officer EASTER LILIES FOR THE PRIORY & ST GEORGE S CHURCH For many years now, a number of people have been pleased to give money for the purchase of Easter Lilies in memory of loved ones. The list of names will be placed upon the Church Altars throughout the Festival. Usual donations are approximately 5 each lily. In this way you can help to make the Priory Church and St George s Church beautiful for Easter. Donations and names of those to be remembered should be placed in the envelope provided at the back of the churches and returned to the Vestry (for Priory) or placed in the box provided at the back of church (St George s), by Monday 15th April. (Any excess monies collected will be allocated to The Priory Flower Fund or St George s Flower Fund respectively.)
