CHRISTCHURCH FOOD BANK NEWS Firstly let me say a huge thank you for your support over the Summer Holidays, we gave out over 200 Holiday Hunger packs to families in the community as well as our normal vouchers. Shelves looked depleted and at times we were worried where the stock would come from...but God fulfilled all our needs through the generosity and continued support of you and others in our community. Admission Free. Retiring Collection. GARDEN OF REST I am delighted to inform you that following the end of the public consultation on the proposed consecration of the Garden of Rest, no objections have been received by the Bishop s Office. As a result, the consecration of the Garden of Rest will be performed by Bishop Jonathan at a special service on Thursday 20th September at 10.00am. Everyone is welcome to attend this service. Canon Charles Stewart FUNERAL SERVICE The funeral service for Winifred Wilson will take place at the Bournemouth Crematorium at 11.15am on Tuesday 11th September. FREE WILL OFFERING AND YELLOW ENVELOPES If you can give your offering using the Yellow Envelopes, we can claim back the tax from the taxman. This means that if you give 10, we can claim back But in order to do this, you must write on your name and address clearly. We cannot claim on an envelope with no details. Thank you. Charity No LOOSE CHANGE BOXES A reminder about the Loose Change boxes in aid of the Friends - please could those of you who kindly took a box at the Trinity Tea this year, remember to bring it to the Harvest Supper (if you are attending this event) so that we can collect the money. If you are willing to take away another box at the Harvest Supper, this new box will be collected at the next Trinity Tea (May 2019). Those of you who are unable to attend the Harvest Supper can either hand the box to a trustee, or continue to use the box until the next collection day. New boxes will be available to all at the Harvest Supper and can be supplied at any time on request to a trustee. The sums collected will be advised in the CPN as well as the annual Treasurer s Report. Thank you. Friends of The Priory Church FRIENDS OF THE PRIORY CHURCH BBQ Many thanks to all those who attended the BBQ on Friday 31st August - an enjoyable evening of Croquet, food and time to chat. Special thanks to Peter and Coleen Warren who organised and set up the Croquet event, Frances and Richard Newell for manning the BBQ so well and the committee and helpers who kept the teapot flowing and dished up the desserts. Hugh Searle won the adult prize and Elizabeth Avis the junior prize. More to follow in the October CPN.
