I am on the lookout for about 6-8 gazebos to create smaller spaces inside the hall for the Light Party, and a lot of fairy lights! The gazebos we will use in the future for other events like a holiday club. Maybe you have one we could borrow or would like to sponsor one? Please let me know if you do, or would like to help in any way, heidi@christchurchpriory.org or phone on ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ALL SOULS REQUIEM SATURDAY 3rd NOVEMBER AT 10.00am There will be an All Souls Requiem held in the Priory at 10.00am on Saturday 3rd November. Following the Civic Service for the Act of Remembrance As the procession leaves the Church, a single half muffled bell will be tolled 239 times. Each toll will be in remembrance of one of those listed in our War Memorial Chapel in the Priory, for past and more recent conflicts, with each of their names being read out in the Church. Ringing pm ~ 1.00 pm The Priory Bellringers will be ringing the Bells, as part of the National Ringing in Celebration of 100 years since the end of the First World War, and aligning with the published agenda for processions and marches in celebration of peace. This includes all ringers including learners. 1.00pm~ 1.30 pm After the Ringing as above, we intend to invite members of the public who can manage the 100 steps of the spiral staircase to come up the tower and chime one of the front Bells. This is in an effort to involve as many members of the local community as poossible to take part in this special event Please bring your family and friends. We would expect to allow groups of 8 maximum up the tower at a time. Certificates will be issued. Rosemary Rogers, Tower Captain EXPENDITURE We are heading towards a significant shortfall this year - up to 60,000. To try to address this, we are going to reduce any expenditure.
