3 H O L Y E D E E M E P A I S H Attitude of Anticipation Advent is an attitude of anticipation. The entire season prepares us to allow Christ into our hearts, sometimes in ways far different from other times when we celebrate the excitement of December. Many people want everything about this season to stay the same year after year: the same carols, the same schedule for giving gifts, even food prepared in the same way. Fine. Consistency does give consolation to the heart. But another truth tells us that each year ought to be different. We are not the same. We are faced with different responsibilities, moved by different insights, changed (or charged) by circumstances we didn t have before, challenged by fresh opportunities and different memories, equipped with increasing or diminishing capacities for coping with all these variations. So we never Advent in exactly the same way. In our tradition one of the ways we do this is through the Sacrament of econciliation. As we have done in the past we are offering additional opportunities for reconciliation before Christmas. This Introductory Session is for both students and parents or guardians of those preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Upcoming practice times for the 8pm Christmas Eve Mass & 11am Christmas Day Mass Tuesday evening s at 7PM Beginning Dec. 4th Voices NEEDED and musicians welcome - come share your talents! We invite all children between the ages of 6-14 years, to join in a Christmas Choir for the 5 PM Christmas Eve Mass. Children must be present for a minimum of 2 of 3 practices. A special thanks to Anastasia ioux who has offered to direct and coordinate this choir. Volunteers Needed: Take some time to get in the spirit of Christmas by giving to this worthwhile cause! 1. If you have a van, SUV or a truck with a cap and are available to help DELIVE BASKETS on TUESDAY, DECEMBE 18th, please call the parish office and leave your name and number. 2. If you can help with sorting, packing or delivering Christmas Baskets, please call the parish office. We Need Food! All food bank donations collected at the church during November and December will be used for our Christmas hampers. Food can be dropped off during open hours. Monetary Donations If you prefer to make a monetary donation, please ensure that any cheques are made payable to Holy edeemer Parish. On the Memo portion of the cheque indicate: Christmas Baskets. Boxes after Dec. 1st Especially useful are BANANA BOXES! If each family could bring 1 or 2 of these we would have a great supply!
