THE OPENING SENTENCES Pastor : ALL: ALL: Death has been swallowed up in victory! Where O death, is your victory? Where O death, is your sting? Thanks be to God. He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Christ has indeed been raised from the dead. The first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. He is risen! He is risen, indeed! ALLELUIA! The stone has been rolled away and the tomb is empty. Jesus Christ lives, He has risen! Sin, death, hell, and the power of the devil have all been conquered. The price for sin has been paid in full. Our Redeemer Lives! The empty cross is the ever-present reminder that the victory has been won. Thanks be to God who has given us the victory through Jesus Christ, Alleluia! The cross is empty. The grave is empty. He has risen! Alleluia! Let us kneel as we confess our sins to God our Father. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. 11 Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed. 4 HOLY GOSPEL: Mark 16:1-8 The Holy Gospel according to St. Mark the 16th chapter beginning at verse 1. Glory be to Thee, O Lord. When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. 2 And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. 3 And they were saying to one another, Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb? 4 And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back it was very large. 5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. 6 And he said to them, Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you. 8 And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them, and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid. This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise be to Thee, O Christ. THE APOSTLES CREED (we confess together) I believe in God, the Father Almighty Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. SCRIP PROGRAM NEWS Just a reminder Scrip is not sold today. SPECIAL OFFERING: Our special offering for April is Morning Meditations. Morning meditations is a daily devotion conducted by local LCMS Pastors on WHBL, 1330 AM at 7:25am and approximately 10:45am. FROM THE PROPERTY COMMITTEE Since we have re-blacked topped the parking lot and painted new lines we encourage everyone to park in a designated stall. We are continuing to have problems when people park around the inner circle such as: damaged grass and a bottle neck problem on both entrance and exit lanes (especially with the new angled parking lines, there just isn't enough room for both.) For the overall safety and general flow of traffic, we ask that everyone please park in a designated stall and no longer park around the inner circle. Thank you. SPRING CLEAN UP An outside spring clean up is planned for Saturday, April 7th at 8:00am. If you are able to help, please bring your rakes. It only takes a few hours. The more volunteers, the faster it goes. Thank you! 6

7 SPAGHETTI DINNER Our annual Spaghetti Dinner is on Sunday, April 22nd from 3:30-7:00pm. Each family has tickets in their mailboxes to sell. Please put your money from the sale of your tickets and any remaining tickets in an envelope and put it in Aaron Kuhlow s mailbox. We are also asking all families to bring cookies or bars. The cost is $8.00 for adult tickets ages 13 and up, $5.00 for children s tickets ages 5-12, 4 and under are free. The menu is spaghetti, bread, salad, applesauce, dessert, coffee and milk. LUTHERAN HIGH AUCTION The Lutheran High School Dinner Auction will be held Saturday, April 14th, from 4:30-10pm. If you are interested in attending, we will have a table so Trinity members can sit together. The cost for first time attendees is $ If you have previously attended, the cost is $68.00 before Wednesday, April 4th, and $80.00 after April 4th. Please make checks payable to Lutheran High School. For complete details please visit their website at or call LHS at (920) ON THE OTHER SIDE OF ETERNITY BIBLE CLASS Engrained in our culture are certain thoughts and ideas about where we go when we die. When heaven or hell are mentioned, pictures of puffy clouds and the music of harps pop into our heads, as well as a place of neverending fire overseen by a goat-like creature called Satan. But what does the Bible have to say about heaven and hell? Some of the answers might surprise you. In this six-week Bible Study Heaven and Hell: The Edge of Eternity from the Faith On The Edge Series, we ll talk about popular misconceptions and identify from Scripture what is important for a Christian to know about heaven and hell. Bring a friend and join us Mondays at 10 am and Thursdays at 6:30 pm starting the week of April 9 th! There will not be Bible Study the week of April 16 th, but we will resume the week of April 23 rd. Hope to see you there! FAMILY FUN DAY WE NEED VOLUNTEERS On Saturday, April 14 th, from 11 am-2 pm, Trinity will be hosting a Family Fun Day in the church basement. There will be a free lunch served and there will be games and activities including face-painting and balloon art. Our preschool will be open for anyone wanting to take a look. The whole community of Howards Grove and surrounding areas are invited. We are in need of volunteers to bake, to serve food, to chaperone, and to help with set up and clean up. Please sign up for one of the slots on the sheet that is located on the table in the narthex. Contact Vicar if you have any questions.
