Sunday School and Bible Class: 9:15am OPENING HYMN: 915 Today Your Mercy Calls Us All: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Let us kneel and confess our sins to God our Father. Most merciful God, we confess that we are by nature sinful and unclean. We have sinned against You in thought, word and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We justly deserve Your present and eternal punishment. For the sake of Your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways to the glory of Your holy name. ABSOLUTION: Please rise INTROIT: (ALL) Almighty God in his mercy has given his Son to die for you and for his sake forgives you all your sins. As a called and ordained servant of the word, I therefore forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. In keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. O Lord, make me know my end and what is the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting I am! Behold, you have made my days a few handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing before you. And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You. Deliver me from all my transgressions. Do not make me the scorn of the fool! Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear to my cry: hold not your peace at my tears! For I am a sojourner with You, a guest, like all my fathers. In keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. 2
3 KYRIE: SONG: THE COLLECT: In peace let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy. For the peace from above, and for our salvation, let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy. For the peace of the whole world, for the well-being of the Church of God and for the unity of all, let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy. For this holy house and for all who offer here their worship and praise, let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy. Help, save, comfort and defend us gracious Lord. Feast of Victory This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia! Worthy is Christ, the Lamb who was slain, whose blood set us free to be people of God. This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia! Power, riches, wisdom and strength, and honor, blessing and glory are His. This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia! Sing with all the people of God, and join in the hymn of all creation. Blessing, honor, glory and might be to God and the Lamb forever. This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia! For the Lamb who was slain has begun His reign. Alleluia! This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia! The Lord be with you. And also with you. Eternal God, merciful Father, You have appointed Your Son as judge of the living and the dead. Enable us to wait for the day of His return with our eyes fixed on the kingdom prepared for Your own from the foundation of the world; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Please be seated 3
4 OLD TESTAMENT: Ezekiel 34:11-16, For thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out. 12 As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. 13 And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land. And I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the ravines, and in all the inhabited places of the country. 14 I will feed them with good pasture, and on the mountain heights of Israel shall be their grazing land. There they shall lie down in good grazing land, and on rich pasture they shall feed on the mountains of Israel. 15 I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I myself will make them lie down, declares the Lord GOD. 16 I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, and the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them in justice. 20 Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD to them: Behold, I, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep. 21 Because you push with side and shoulder, and thrust at all the weak with your horns, till you have scattered them abroad, 22 I will rescue my flock; they shall no longer be a prey. And I will judge between sheep and sheep. 23 And I will set up over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he shall feed them: he shall feed them and be their shepherd. 24 And I, the LORD, will be their God, and my servant David shall be prince among them. I am the LORD; I have spoken. This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. EPISTLE: 1 Corinthians 15: But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. 24 Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For God has put all things in subjection under his feet. But when it says, all things are put in subjection, it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him. 28 When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all. Please rise This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. Sr. Choir There is a Quiet Understanding Solo Jeff Korb 4
5 HOLY GOSPEL: Matthew 24:1-14 The Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew the 24th chapter beginning at verse 1 Glory to you, O Lord. Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple. 2 But he answered them, You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down. 3 As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age? 4 And Jesus answered them, See that no one leads you astray. 5 For many will come in my name, saying, I am the Christ, and they will lead many astray. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are but the beginning of the birth pains. 9 Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. 12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise be to Thee, O Christ THE APOSTLES CREED: (We confess together) I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. THINKING AHEAD TO THE CHRISTMAS SEASON Since Trinity has again been very blessed this year: we thought this would be a great time to outreach to our community. In past years, our church was able to give very sizable donations because of your generosity. There are so many people in Sheboygan County that are truly in need of extra help. Sheboygan County Health and Human Services has provided us with a list of items that are needed by their families. On Nov. 26th and Dec.3th we will be collecting personal hygiene, cleaning, and paper products; for example. Hair products, lotions, deodorant, toothpaste, razors (don t forget the men), laundry soap, dish soap, Kleenex, plastic wrap, etc. On Dec.10 th and 17th, we will be collecting baby items; there is a special need this year for diapers (newborn and sizes 3,4,5), Gerber formula, blankets, receiving blankets, sleepers, socks, shoes (size 6-7), winter jackets up to size 4T, shampoo, baby wash, and lotion. This year these items will also go to the Health and Human services. They will be picking up the items on Dec.18 th so they have time to give them to the families. All items should be new and unwrapped. There will be labeled boxes in the Narthex where you will be able to place your donations. If you have any questions please contact Robie Scharinger at or Susie Sixel at LOOKING AHEAD Opportunities to worship in December. 8:00 & Family Worship with Holy Communion.
