7 LOOKING AHEAD JULY 23 JULY 30 SERVICE OF HEALING Marcus McFaul preaching JAZZ SUNDAY Marcus McFaul preaching SPIRITUAL PRACTICES IN NATURE: CHURCH-WIDE RETREAT August 4-6, Laurel Ridge: Join Binkley friends of all ages in a beautiful mountain setting to explore the ways God speaks to us through creation. We ll do art, sing, worship, play, take nature walks, and more. Come back refreshed and renewed! Retreat forms available in the Narthex, outside of Stephanie Ford s office, and online. Registration deadline is TOMORROW, July 17. HOW CAN FAITH-BASED COMMUNITIES SUPPORT PEOPLE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA? AN EVENING WITH JENNI REIFF Jul. 19, 5:30 pm, Lounge: Join us for a Wednesday night dinner and program about how a faith-based community can support people with dementia and their caregivers. The presentation and following discussion will empower congregation members to build their understanding of dementia and their toolkit of communication strategies to connect with and support these valued members of our community. Dinner is $6 for adults, $3 for children, or come just for the program at 6:30 pm. Chech Event in the Friendship Register to make a reservation or contact the office by noon on July 17. ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING COLLECTION ON JULY 30: One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) is a multi-denominational Christian effort to support disaster relief, development projects, and refugee ministries. OGHS donations collected by Binkley go directly to the World Relief Office of the American Baptist Church. The money is used for both domestic and foreign projects. Binkley s collection for OGHS will begin Sunday, July 30th. Envelopes will be provided and checks can be made out to Binkley Baptist with the memo note OGHS. SOUTH ESTES GARDEN: The Men of Binkley and the Peace and Justice Committee are teaming up to help complete construction of the South Estes Community Garden. We need 3-4 men to help complete the finishing touches. Volunteers please contact Paul Lindsay at or plindsay2@aol.com. If you have a power saw and/or power drill that you are willing to bring along, we can use it. DO YOU NEED HELP WITH GARDENING, REMODELING OR SMALL CARPENTRY JOBS THIS SUMMER?
