Contemplative Centering Prayer Group regularly meets at Lucille Everhart s home, 31 Charlton Dr., Hpt., 23666, on Mon. from 2-3 p.m. Learn about Centering Prayer. PERSONNEL: the new year, January 2. As many of you know, our caterer, Heather Gauthier, has resigned for personal reasons. Her last meal for us will be on Wednesday evening, December 19. At that meal time we will collect a love gift for her to show our appreciation of all the good meals she has prepared for us and for her happy smiles! Robert Hudson will be preparing our meals beginning with the first Wednesday in the new year, January 2. LOVE GIFT for HBC STAFF: We are approaching the time when we take a few minutes to reflect on events of the past year brought many changes for HBC, yet our remaining staff continues to do their work well and pick up additional responsibilities so that our worship and all programs continue to run smoothly. The Personnel Committee asks that you consider making a contribution to a love gift to show our appreciation to staff for all they have done and continue to do. Please put your contribution in an envelope and place in the offering plate, give to Darlene in the office, or give to a member of the Personnel Committee. Look around the building and you will see broken windows, rotting sills, windows that are about to fall out, and bulging walls created by broken lintels. The need for new windows is urgent! We are inviting contributions to a window fund to bring our windows up to date, thus enhancing the appearance of our building and cutting the cost of heating and air conditioning. To replace a complete window (the window, the sill, and the lintel) is $1400, but we certainly welcome contributions of any amount to the window fund. This would be a great way for Sunday School classes, WMU groups, youth groups, or families to honor or remember a loved one. You may write a check for any amount to Hampton Baptist Church, put Window Fund on the memo line, and place in the offering plate. She does not think any of my issues are neurological and is sending me back to the orthopedic doctor. I am not getting any better. I am frustrated and anxious. For Lit Little and Bill Cole please continue to lift them up as they are continuing to build back their strength. Friends and Family Dan Sendling in WV (brother-in-law to Amelia Steinmetz) will be having knee replacement surgery at a VA Hospital near Clarksburg on Friday, December 14. Several factors make the surgery very complicated: he is diabetic which makes this a high-risk surgery and our family is hopeful but anxious about the outcome. We appreciate prayers for his surgery and recovery. Thanks so much. Most sincerely, Amelia Steinmetz Donnie Payne (father of Dee Dee Horne) Update on my dad. It is a cancerous tumor. The polyps were precancerous. He will have surgery on Jan 8. They do not think the cancer has spread, but will be taking a lymph node to be sure.
