Why do we need so many? We try and buy most of our food from the Food Bank this means that when they have it, we need to buy it. This is also the case for Night s Welcome. If we don t have the capacity to store large quantities of food (we are serving around 100 people each Monday), we are not able to buy enough food when it is available. Currently our oldest freezer (it was in the pantry of the old kitchen when I started helping with Soup Kitchen over 10 years ago, and it wasn t new then) is not working properly. Instead of paying for a repair person to come in, we thought that someone from HBC (or their friends) may be ready to upgrade their freezer and would like to donate their old one to us. Please contact Amy Witcover- Sandford or Phil Everhart if you are able to fill this need.

7 NEED FROM HELP: Hello everyone--i hope this message finds you well and plenty full of Thanksgiving leftovers! This is a request for our congregations and volunteers to use church vans to help with transportation for week 6 of shelter. West Hampton Baptist Church is about 1/2 mile from the nearest bus stop--which for many of our guests is simply an additional barrier to shelter. Here's what we're looking for--do you have a volunteer at the church who'd be willing to drive your church van/bus for one day that week (Dec 8 - Dec 15)? They'd transport our guests away from shelter in the morning (around 6:30 AM ) to the Hampton Transit Center and then transport them back to shelter from the transit center that evening (around 5:30 pm). And the good news!! It doesn't have to be the same person!! If your church is willing to take on a single day and coordinate transportation with your members, please sign up for a day on the following link: Week 6 Shelter Transportation And as always--if you have any questions, feel free to give me a call!! Blessings, Matthew Stearn Executive Director HELP, Inc Windows into the Future: On Tuesday evening, the Deacons unanimously approved a motion to set up a special fund for repair and replacement of the windows in our old building. Look around the building and you will see broken windows, rotting sills, windows that are about to fall out, and bulging walls created by broken lentils. The need for new windows is urgent! We are inviting contributions to a window fund to bring our windows up to date, thus enhancing the appearance of our building and cutting the cost of heating and air conditioning. To replace a complete window (the window, the sill, and the lentil) is $1400, but we certainly welcome contributions of any amount to the window fund. This would be a great way for Sunday School classes, WMU groups, youth groups, or families to honor or remember a loved one. You may write a check for any amount to Hampton Baptist Church, put Window Fund on the memo line, and place in the offering plate.
