St. Joseph Parish is also accepting Sanctuary and St. Joseph candle intentions. The suggested stipend for the Sanctuary candle, which burns for two weeks, is $20. At St. Joseph Parish only, the suggested stipend for the St. Joseph candle, which burns for one week, is $10. Contact your respective parish office to schedule one of these spiritual tributes for your loved ones. Please remember the souls of those who have died, especially for the repose of the soul of Victoria Miller of St. Mary Church. St. Mary of Czestochowa Museum of Memorabilia As part of the 125th anniversary celebration, the Museum of Memorabilia is now open after the 7:30 AM and 11:30 AM Masses each Sunday through November 4 in the rectory. The items on display chronicle the history of the parish through the present day. Come and enjoy a walk down memory lane and reminisce with other parishioners and guests. A committee member will be on-hand to answer any questions. Golden Wedding Anniversary Celebration Bishop Malesic invites all couples celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary during the calendar year 2018 to participate in a special Golden Jubilee Mass to be held at the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral on Sunday, September 23, at 3:00 PM. The Jubilarians, their children, relatives or friends should contact either St. Joseph or St. Mary to register the couples for this celebration. Even though they may be unable to attend the Mass, they will receive a scroll signed by the Bishop commemorating their anniversary. Deadline for registration: Monday, July 30. 4 Knights of Columbus, Fr. Francis J. Hertzog Council 1381 will hold a hoagie sale after all Masses at both churches on Saturday, July 21 and Sunday, July 22. Cost is $5.00 and proceeds from the sale will benefit their many charitable projects. The Knights wish to thank everyone for their generous support throughout the years. St. Joseph St. Vincent de Paul Society The next meeting of the St. Joseph St. Vincent de Paul Society will be held on Tuesday, July 24, at 2:00 PM, in the Conference Room. All members are encouraged to attend. New members are always welcome! Look at your life and try to add up how you spend your week. How much time is devoted to God, family, work and service? All ladies of the parish are welcome to attend the luncheon. In celebration of St. Mary s 125th Anniversary, a ice cream social will be held on Sunday, August 5, after the 11:30 AM Mass. Registration forms and information for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and 7th and 8th Grade class were mailed recently. Registration forms can also be found in the vestibule of the church. Sessions are held Tuesday mornings and evenings. Please register your child(ren) now by completing the form and dropping it in the collection basket or mailing it to the church. Partnered Parish Picnic News The 2018 PARTNERED Parish Picnic will be held on Thursday, August 2, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 PM at the VFW in Lower Burrell. Churches will provide chicken and beverages. Guests are asked to bring their favorite covered dish to share with everyone. Attendance sign-up sheets are at the exits of each church. THIS IS A PARTNERED PARISH EVENT. VOLUNTEERS from BOTH PARISHES are needed to make this event a success. All volunteers are required to have the PA Child Abuse Clearances before volunteering. 5 Miscarriage, Infant or Child Loss Memorial Mass The third annual Memorial Mass for miscarriage, stillbirth, infant or child loss will be held on Wednesday, July 25, at 6:00 PM in Holy Family Catholic Church, 1200 Ligonier Street, Latrobe. A keepsake rosebud will be given to all families who attend, and refreshments will be served immediately following the Memorial Mass. We encourage you to RSVP yourselves and register your child s name by contacting Debbie Vanden Berk at or at debdvb@yahoo.com. Please invite others who you think might want to be part of this memorial. 37th Annual Festa Italiana Mount St. Peter Parish will be holding its 37th Annual Festa Italiana from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM on August 2, 3 & 4, on its parish grounds. The Festa features live music and entertainment, handmade Italian food specialties, desserts and pastries, children s games, BINGO and other games of chance for adults over age 21. Admission is free and all are welcome! Shuttle buses will be available from Valley High School in New Kensington on all three days. Smiy Memorial Golf Outing The 17th annual Paul R. Smiy Memorial Golf Outing will be held at the Ligonier Country Club.
