Seminarian & Vocation Collection-Next Weekend A second collection, approved for the Greensburg Chapter of the Knights of Columbus councils, will be taken at all Masses next weekend, January 19 & 20, for the Diocesan Seminarians and the Greensburg Chapter Bishop s Project. Your donation benefits our local seminarians and the Bishop s programs for high school and college age youth who are discerning vocations to the priesthood. Your support will help Fr. 5 Cleaning Position Available Mary Queen of Apostles School is currently seeking a cleaning person. The candidate will need to have or obtain all of the necessary clearances to work in a school. The individual should enjoy cleaning and be very detail oriented. Hours would be from 2:45 PM until 5:45 PM. There is a possibility that we may be able to provide a longer work day. Parish & Neighbor News What s Happening This Week Magnificat Breakfast The Greensburg Chapter of Magnificat-A Ministry to Catholic Women is holding a breakfast at the Ramada Hotel and Convention Center, Rt. 30 East, Greensburg on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019 from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM. Guest speaker will be Carolyn Cannizzaro of Fayette City, whose story of faith and trust in God during some of life s most difficult trials will leave you inspired. DCCW Pro-Life Prayer Event The Greensburg Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW) will sponsor a Pro-Life Day on Friday, January 18 at Christ our Shepherd Center. Day begins at 11:00 AM with a Rosary for Priests followed by Mass and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. The event closes with Benediction at 4:00 PM Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) National Christmas Artwork Contest The Diocese of Greensburg is proud to participate in this contest once again this year! Of the last 3 three years of participation, five winners have come from the Diocese of Greensburg. Twenty-two winners will be selected in this competition; their artwork will be displayed at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC during Advent and Christmas Two grand prize winners will also be chosen, and their artwork will appear as the official Christmas card of the National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies, Father Andrew Small, OMI. National contest winners will be notified in late spring 2019 and announced to Catholic media in fall 2019; all winners receive a commemorative plaque. The Contest is open to young Catholics in grades K-8. However, winners from last year s ( ) contest may not enter this competition. The Mission Office would especially like to encourage all children in those grades to participate.
