It can be easy to reduce priests to the status of good men dedicated to a noble cause. But God wants to lift our vision so that we can see Jesus at work through his servant, through an imperfect man who has been set apart by Him and for Him. Jesus, our great high priest, has offered his life for us a life like ours in all things but sin. And our priests have offered their lives as well. Without a priest, no parish is able to be a Eucharistic community. It is important to reaffirm the importance of the priesthood of Jesus Christ and its central place in the life of our Church. Please pray for our pastor, Fr. John Szczesny, and our parochial vicar, Fr. Gregorio de la Cruz Soldevilla, and all our holy priests. Make your appreciation known to assure them of your loving care and gratitude for their presence in our parishes. Heavenly Father, your only Son instituted the Blessed Eucharist for our salvation. 4 Partnered Parish News Food for Sale A limited number of pierogi and cabbage rolls will be sold after the Masses on Sunday, October 29, at St. Mary Church. Pierogi will be sold for $10.00/dozen and cabbage rolls for $10.00/half dozen. These will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. Fresh Christmas Wreaths Orders The Knights of Columbus will be taking orders for fresh Fraser fir Christmas wreaths from Canada for the remaining weekends in October. These are beautiful, full wreaths with no metal frame showing. Wreaths will be ready for pickup at Thanksgiving weekend Masses, both Saturday and Sunday. All Saints Holy Day In observance of the holy day, the parish offices will be closed Wednesday, November 1, and re-open on Thursday, November 2. Have a blessed holy day! Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Sessions for children ages 3-12 are Tuesday mornings from 9:30 AM-11:30 AM and Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM.
