3 THE CONFESSION OF FAITH (Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed) I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages; Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father through Whom all things were made. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And He rose on the third day, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father; And He will come again with glory to judge the living and dead. His kingdom shall have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Creator of life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets. Sunday Service Schedule and Teams When coming to Church on Sundays, families oftentimes disperse to fulfill commitments and duties. While these commitments and duties are important, Father Bill has set a priority of having families worship God together. To facilitate this, a schedule has been created so that family members who volunteer on Sundays will be assigned to serve on the same Sundays as their family members. 5 Theodora and Milton Dickos College Scholarship For those who are going to submit an application for the Milton & Theodora Dickos College Scholarship this year, the applications and all materials, including references, must be received in the Parish Office no later than May 5, 2014 at EDT. Scholarship Awards will be presented on Sunday, May 18. Theodora and Milton Dickos Church School Awards Any student in Kindergarten through 12th grade interested in being considered for these awards must have their signed guidelines returned to their teacher by May 4. No guidelines will be accepted late. If you have questions, please see your child's teacher. Church School On April 27, May 4, May 11, and May 18 children and youth will attend class following the Divine Liturgy until 11:45am. Please return all Mission Boxes to Church School classroom teachers now. Teachers will be working with sixth grade students on May 18 to make prosfora. Any student (or adult) interested, should be at church by 8:30am on that Sunday. Graduates Graduates or parents of graduates from high school or college this spring are asked to send an to the Parish Office at with the following information: 1. Name of person graduating; 2. School graduating from; 3. Graduation date; 4. Future plans; 5. Names of parents; and 6. Degree information (college only). Graduates will be recognized in an upcoming Koinonia. Information must be received by the Parish Office no later than Sunday, May 11. GOYA Upcoming Events GOYA will be watching a Star Wars movie on May 4. Don't forget to vote on your favorite Star Wars movie by April 30! May 10 from 9am to noon we will be working with Philoptochos on community service projects at Holy Trinity Church. On Sunday, May 11, we will be hosting the Mother's Day Coffee Hour following the Divine Services. Orthodox Life Meeting on Sunday, May 18 at. If you have ideas or suggestions for the upcoming year, please send your suggestions to GOYA@holytrinityindy.org. Holy Trinity Volunteer Day Holy Trinity Volunteer Day sponsored by Philoptochos is Saturday May 10. There will be volunteer projects for all ages taking place at Church and at various sites. More details to follow. Passport to Greece Join us for an evening of fun, for a true taste of Greece! Passport to Greece is sponsored by Philoptochos and is scheduled for Friday, May 30 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. $15 admission ($8 children under 12) includes appetizers, pastries, Greek music, dance lessons and demonstrations. Cash bar will be available with a selection of fine Greek wines, cheeses, coffee and beverages. There will be a Greek market with pastries, and authentic Greek products available for sale. RSVP by May 16 to philoptochos@holytrinityindy.org or Admission is $20 at the door. Philoptochos May Meeting Run for the Roses, Kentucky Derby Style! May 13 at 6:30pm. Big hats and bright scarves welcome! Guest speaker is Jenny Atkinson, Equine Program Manger at Children's TherAplay Foundation, Inc. TherAplay is a pediatric therapy clinic offering the tool of equine-assisted therapy. A light meal of Derby-style Southern food will be provided. Free-will donations accepted for TherAplay. RSVP by May 6 to Philoptochos@gmail.com or Book Corner Our next book selection is The Assistant by Bernard Malamud. The book will be discussed on May 9 at in the Holy Trinity Education Wing. Malamud is Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award winner who writes of the immigrant world and its cramped circumstances and great expectations. All are welcome to join in the discussion of this book and how it relates to our world today. Suitcases Needed Donations of usable suitcases are needed for our Guatemala Mission Team so they can transport clothing and other supplies to the children in Guatemala. Donations may be placed by the Holy Trinity Bookstore in the Founders' Walk.

6 Holy Trinity Ministries There are many opportunities for all ages to become active in the life of our Parish. Please contact the Parish Office at or if we can help connect you with any of the following ministries. Altar Boys These young men serve at Christ s Holy Altar and assist in the worship services, thereby gaining valuable knowledge of our liturgical traditions. All boys ten years of age and older are welcome. Book Corner A library outreach program to encourage reading and discussing religious and cultural books. It meets on the second Friday of each month at in the Education Wing. Everyone is welcome. Choir The Choir participates in Divine Services, offers concerts, and also performs at the Madrigal Dinner in December. Church School Children attend the Divine Liturgy with their families and are dismissed for class following Holy Communion. Classes are held each Thursday afternoon and teaches familiarity with Modern Greek. The Orthodox Faith is integrated into the curriculum whenever possible. Junior GOYA Middle school youth group. Meetings are 1-2 times per month. Members participate in service projects, social activities, and discussions of middle school life issues. Library Committee The Parish has an excellent collection of spiritual and cultural books for adults and children for check out. It is organized and supported by a group of volunteers. Any parishioner is welcome to assist in this mission. Appropriate books may be added to the collection by donation, or by making a monetary donation in memory of a loved one or to celebrate a joyous event.

7 Missions Committee Our purpose is to promote and witness Orthodoxy. All are invited to join. Meetings are monthly. Narthex Servers These young women, aged 10 and older, assist in the worship services and gain knowledge of our liturgical traditions. Philoptochos Society The local chapter of a national charitable women s organization that assists individuals in need and supports organizations such as the North United Methodist Church Soup Kitchen, Gleaner's Food Bank, The Julian Center, and contributes to many national and Metropolis charities. Philoptochos also sponsors the Vasilopita Luncheon, the Palm Sunday Luncheon, all coffee hours after the Divine Liturgy each Sunday and many other activities. All women 18 years old and older are encouraged to join. Saint Basil Film Study This group is geared towards adults. Participants seek out moral and ethical themes within secular films in order to provoke discussion and debate. Different perspectives are discussed in the context of traditional Judeo-Christian beliefs. The group meets on various Friday evenings for refreshments, film, and discussion. Saint John Patristic Study The Saint John Patristic Study meets every Wednesday evening during the fall and winter. This group is primarily geared towards adults who have an elementary background in the Orthodox Faith and who want to deepen their understanding of living the Orthodox life. Senior GOYA - Senior high school youth group. Members learn about the Orthodox Faith and participate in service projects and social outings.
