1 Our Vision: To Know God

2 Holy Trinity Church is under the Omophorion of His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of the Metropolis of Detroit. Father William J. Bartz Presiding Priest Parish Office Hours 9 am - 5 pm Monday-Friday 3500 W. 106th Street, Carmel, IN fax holytrinityindy Parish Council President Steve Kollias Vice President Tracy Pappas Secretary Gail Zeheralis Treasurer George Pappaioanou Assistant Treasurer Steve Young Dean Antonopoulos, Nick Dervenis, Dennis Dickos, Greg Dickos, Bob Dine, Christopher Greisl, Constantine Linos, Julie Rowlas, Irene Sarris. Staff Office Administrator Cindy Watson Ministry Administrator Susanne Hinson-Rieger Building Manager Tim Bryant Susan Baron Administrative Assistant For information about this publication contact Susanne Hinson -Rieger at Deadline for inclusion is Monday before the cover date. All items are requested in digital format, and sent to bulletin@holytrinityindy.org. Entrance Hymn Come let us bow down to Christ as we worship Him the Son of God. Save us O Son of God, Who did rise from the dead; we sing to You: Alleluia. Resurrectional Apolytikion Tone Three Let the heavens rejoice and let the earth be glad, For the Lord has shown the mighty Power of His arm. He has trampled down death by death, becoming the Firstborn of the dead. He has delivered us from the depth of hell and has granted to all the world His great mercy. Apolytikion of the Forefeast O Bethlehem, prepare, Eden is opened unto all. All be ready, Ephrata, for the Tree of Life has in the grotto blossomed forth from the Virgin. Indeed her womb is shown to be spiritually a Paradise, in which is found the God-planted Tree. And if we eat from it we shall live, and shall not die, as did Adam of old. Christ is born, so that He might raise up the formerly fallen image. Apolytikion of the Fathers Magnificent are Faith's accomplishments! The three holy Youths exultingly stood in the fountain of fire as if beside the still waters of rest. And Daniel the Prophet was shown to be a shepherd of lions. At their entreaty, O Christ God, save our souls. Church Hymn (Troparion of Pentecost) Blessed are You O Christ our God Who has shown the fishermen as wise men By sending down Your Holy Spirit upon them And through them, the whole world You drew into Your net O Lover of mankind, glory to You. Kontakion Today the Virgin goes forth, Making her way to a cave Where from her ineffably, God the eternal Word will be born. Let the world be filled with joy, Hearing these tidings. Joining the angels and shepherds Let us give glory to Him Who is God from all ages Yet wills to be seen as a little Child.

3 EPISTLE READING: St. Paul's Letter to the Hebrews 11:9-10; BRETHREN, by faith Abraham sojourned in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. For he looked forward to the city which has foundation, whose builder and maker is God. And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets - who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, received promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched raging fire, escaped the edge of the sword, won strength out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. Women received their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, that they might rise again to a better life. Others suffered mocking and scourging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were killed with the sword; they went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, ill-treated - of whom the world was not worthy - wandering over deserts and mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And all these, though well attested by their faith, did not receive what was promised, since God had foreseen something better for us,that apart from us they should not be made perfect. GOSPEL READING: Matthew 1:1-25 THE CONFESSION OF FAITH (Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed) I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages; Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father through Whom all things were made. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And He rose on the third day, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father; And He will come again with glory to judge the living and dead. His kingdom shall have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Creator of life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets. In one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come. Amen.
