Resurrection Hymn Christ is risen from the dead, by death, trampling down upon death, and to those in the tombs He has granted life. Resurrectional Apolytikion Tone Four The joyful news of Your Resurrection was proclaimed by the angel to the women disciples, having thrown off the curse that fell on Adam, they ran elatedly to tell the Apostles: Death has been vanquished; Christ our God is risen from the dead, blessing all the world with His great mercy. Festal Apolytikion O Lord, midway through the Feast, give drink to my thirsty soul from the waters of true religion. For to all You the Savior cried aloud, Let whoever is thirsty come to Me and drink. As the Fountain of life, O Christ our God, glory to You. Church Hymn (Troparion of Pentecost) Blessed are You O Christ our God Who has shown the fishermen as wise men By sending down Your Holy Spirit upon them And through them, the whole world You drew into Your net O Lover of mankind, glory to You. Kontakion Into the grave You descended Immortal One, And yet the power of Hades have You destroyed! And as Victor You did arise, O Christ Our God, To the women who came bearing myrrh, You proclaimed, "Rejoice!" and unto Your Apostles You granted the gift of peace, And have bestowed, on the fallen, resurrection.

People: We worship His Resurrection on third day. Priest: Christ is risen from the dead, by death trampling down upon death, and to those in the tombs, He has granted life. People: Truly the Lord is risen! THE CONFESSION OF FAITH (Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed) I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages; Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father through Whom all things were made. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And He rose on the third day, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father; And He will come again with glory to judge the living and dead. His kingdom shall have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Creator of life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets. In one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come. Amen.
4 EPISTLE READING: Acts of the Apostles 11:19-30 IN THOSE DAYS, those apostles who were scattered because of the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to none except Jews. But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on coming to Antioch spoke to the Greeks also, preaching the Lord Jesus. And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number that believed turned to the Lord. News of this came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad; and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose; for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a large company was added to the Lord. So Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul; and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church, and taught a large company of people; and in Antioch the disciples were for the first time called Christians. Now in these days prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. And one of them named Agabos stood up and foretold by the Spirit that there would be a great famine over all the world; and this took place in the days of Claudius. And the disciples determined, every one according to his ability, to send relief to the brethren who lived in Judea, and they did so, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul. GOSPEL READING: John 4:5-42 Sunday Service Schedule and Teams When coming to Church on Sundays, families oftentimes disperse to fulfill commitments and duties. While these commitments and duties are important, Father Bill has set a priority of having families worship God together. To facilitate this, a schedule has been created so that family members who volunteer on Sundays will be assigned to serve on the same Sundays as their family members. 9 Dear Parishioners, What is Stewardship? A message from the Holy Trinity Church Stewardship Committee According to Williams and McKibben in their book on Orthodox Christian leadership entitled Oriented Leadership, Stewardship includes numerous elements: Stewardship is caring for the needs of others; Stewardship is offering one's self to God as He offered Himself to us; and Stewardship is what a person does after saying "I believe..." as proof of that belief. In the Bible, the Steward is depicted as a person who is given the responsibility of managing something that belongs to the Owner, God. The Steward as the manager is thus accountable to the Owner for all that he possesses and is responsible to return to the Lord his or her fair share in gratitude and thanksgiving. As God has been generous to us, He expects us to be generous toward the work of Christ and His Church. Giving is not a substitute for commitment it is an expression of your commitment! Stewardship is about making choices, as individuals and in our community. Stewardship is more than giving money to our Church; it is about being faithful disciples, caring for and managing all God has given us. Our Holy Trinity Stewardship Committee wants to thank all parishioners who have submitted 2014 Stewardship Commitment Forms. Remember, our Stewardship goals for 2014 include: 1) having all 2014 Stewardship Commitments submitted by June 22, ) achieving total Stewardship commitments of $600,000 and 3) having all Stewards begin making weekly contributions now. Let us all demonstrate our strong spiritual and financial commitment to Holy Trinity Parish by completing our 2014 Stewardship Commitment Form today. Stewardship Commitment forms are available on the Parish website or in the Founders Walk. While making our Stewardship Commitment, let us prayerfully consider increasing our commitment over last year and offering, at a minimum, 2% of our total household net income. Let us move in the direction of giving as God wants us to give and as Father Bill has helped us to understand by increasing total household contributions to 5% by "He who sows sparingly, will also reap sparingly; and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully." (2 Corinthians 9:6-7). Thank you for your generosity. In His Service, Joseph G. Eaton Stewardship Committee Member Father Bill

15 HOLY COMMUNION Holy Communion is the Body and Blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Saint John of Kronstadt ( ) says, in partaking of the Holy Sacrament, be as sure that you partake of the Body and Blood of Christ, as you are sure that every moment you breathe air. Saint Cyril of Jerusalem (about ) also teaches us Since Christ Himself has declared the bread to be His Body, who can have any further doubt? Since He Himself has said quite categorically, This is My Blood, who would dare to question it, and say that it is not His Blood? Therefore, it is with complete assurance that we receive the bread and wine as the Body and Blood of Christ. His Body is given to us under the symbol of bread, and His Blood is given to us under the symbol of wine, in order to make us by receiving them one body and blood with Him. Having His Body and Blood in our members, we become bearers of Christ and sharers, as Saint Peter says, of the divine nature Do not then regard the Eucharistic elements as ordinary bread and wine: they are in fact the Body and Blood of the Lord, as He Himself has declared. Whatever your senses tell you, be strong in faith. The Lord urges us to make a sincere effort to make peace with each other when anger or hurt exists, seeking forgiveness or granting forgiveness, as appropriate, (Matthew 5:24) before approaching the Lord. Receiving Holy Communion is certainly important to our spiritual life and growth. This ultimate connection with Jesus Christ is a gift which God gives to us and one which should be accepted gratefully and responsibly. Our Church teaches that receiving Holy Communion frequently is encouraged. Our Church also teaches that a preparation is expected. Preparation for Holy Communion can vary from person to person. The minimum preparation to receive Holy Communion is to fast from meat on Wednesday and Friday and not eat anything on the morning, prior to receiving Holy Communion. For those who must take medication that requires food, they are permitted to eat that which is necessary for their health. Furthermore, the Church teaches us to fast on particular days during the year and especially during the four main fast periods. These four main fast periods are in preparation of holy days of the year, as follows: December (Nativity of our Lord) Great Lent (before Holy Week and Easter) Monday after All Saints Day through 28 June (the Apostles), 1 14 August (the Dormition of the Theotokos) Each of us is encouraged to approach the Chalice to receive Holy Communion in love and in peace, gratefully and responsibly.
