Graduating Seniors Recognized: About 45 family members and friends recognized our 2015 High School Graduates by enjoying a breakfast served following the 8am Mass last day. Thanks to the committee for preparing and serving them. The winner of the quilt donated by Sew Sew Ladies was won by Riley Bunge. Congratula- 50th Anniversary of Church Dedication day, June 14 Mass 10:00 am Lunch 11:15 am - 12:30 pm Program 12:30 pm- 1:00 pm In making plans for this occasion, we are asking each parish family to RSVP for the lunch between May 20 and June 5, There is a sign-up sheet at church entrance. The meal will be a pork loin sandwich with potato salad, coleslaw, beans and cake. The Knights of Columbus and the Women's Guild will be furnishing the meal at no cost. Please contact your family and former parishioners about this event. Everyone is welcome to come for any and/or all the events that day. We need RSVPs for planning the meal. This year s program is SonSpark Labs, a week of laboratory adventures and fun! Through their adventures children will discover God s Big Plan 2 MAKE Us, 2 BE WITH Us, 4 Us 2 KNOW Him, 2 SAVE Us and 2 LOVE Us 4- Ever! We will have a great time with lively songs, creative crafts, exciting games, Bible stories and tasty snacks all of the things that make VBS so much fun for children. Over 25 people were nominated! Since we had so many nominations, the PC wants to have as many parishioners involved in the election as possible. And, with so many things going on this weekend (e.g. only one Mass this weekend, Tipton HS Graduation and Memorial Day Weekend) we have decided to not have our (PC) Elections this day. Instead, Parish Council Elections will be held next weekend during both the Saturday Mass (May 30) and day Mass (May 31). St. Mary Tipton's graduating seniors will be recognized at the 10 a.m. Mass day June 7. "EVEREST Conquering Challenges with God's Mighty Power!" is the theme of this summer's Vacation Bible School (VBS) which will be July 20, 21, and 22. St. Mary Parish children ages 4 through those entering 6th grades this fall will be joining children from Tipton's United Church of Christ, United Methodist Church, Trinity Lutheran, and Calvary Foursquare. So a ministry in the Church for married couples is being a "Sponsor Couple". You can share your wisdom and support for engaged couples and your own marriage can grow richer by the experience. Training is available and you don't have to be young to do this; in fact, the longer you've been married, the more you can share! Memorial Day Mass will be offered for our deceased veterans and loved ones on Monday May 25, 2015 at 9:00 am at St Bridget s Cemetery, Nolan Settlement. Bring your family, friends and lawn chairs. 5 Question of the Week O n the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and exclaimed, Let anyone who thirsts come to me and drink. As Scripture says: Rivers of living water will flow from within him who believes in me. He said this in reference to the Spirit that those who came to believe in him were to receive. There was, of course, no Spirit yet, because Jesus had not yet been glorified. JN 7:37-39 Theme: We have been given the breath of God - the gift of the Holy Spirit. Step One: Listen to the Word As you listen to this dramatic reading again today, what image strikes you in the story? What single word or phrase catches your ear or touches your heart? Step Two: Look into Your Life Question for Children: When have you heard your inner voice or conscience guiding you to do what is right? Question for Youth: When have you felt the Holy Spirit in your life? Question for Adults: Share about times when you felt the power of the Spirit, giving you the right words, giving you insight into a dilemma, or in other ways.
