December 16, K 7 students will come to class as usual, attend Mass together, reenact the Nativity and then Cookies and refreshments follow in the parish hall! Families please plan to bring a couple dozen cookies to share! Thank you! Confirmation Class of 2020 students in this year s 8 th and 9 th grades: Wednesday December 12 at 7 p.m. in the hall. Students should plan to participate in Mass together day, December 16, 10 a.m. and can look forward to the cookies afterwards! Grades 10, 11, 12 Check with Katie or Lauren or a fellow student for which Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in the hall this month. We would like to have these names by December 15th. (You are invited to take your poinsettia home after Christmas). $15 for each poinsettia. Adults, young and old, day Studies are at 9 a.m. in the religious education office in the parish hall. We study and reflect on the lectionary Scripture of the day and liturgical seasons of the church. Knights Corner Singing/Praying: This month s 4 th Wednesday Sing will be the 3 rd Wednesday, December 18, 7:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. in the Church. This is for anyone who is interested in singing for the joy of singing, open to singers in eighth grade through adult ages. We will sing songs that will be sung at Christmas Masses and other carols and songs of the season. For this sing, feel free to bring your musical instrument if you would prefer. Please contact Mary Barnum if you have any questions (or music requests!). ADVENT PRAYER: Wednesday evenings December 12 and 19 with prayer in the Church at 6:45 p.m. followed by a light supper at the hall. Knights of Columbus Fr. Eugene Benda council will have a Christmas pot luck for members and wives on Monday, December 17 th. We will start with a social half hour at 5:00 pm prior to the pot luck meal at 5:30 pm. Members will receive an on additional details. A short meeting following the pot luck meal at 6:00 pm to allow those who wish to go to the Tipton High School Christmas concert. The students will be preparing and acting out the Christmas pageant following 8:00 am Mass on December 16 th. Following the pageant the Knights of Columbus will be hosting a pancake breakfast in the parish hall. The Knights will be having a free will donation with the proceeds going to a charity of their choosing. All parish members, grandparents, parents and family are welcome to participate in the pageant and breakfast. Please include your donation with specific information in an envelope in the collection basket at our St. Mary s Mechanicsville Masses in the next four weeks. When the Christmas decorations are stored away, you may take your poinsettia home to enjoy. Saint Mary's Mechanicsville Guild would like to share our Christmas spirit to include The Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Our Sew Sew Group will be making lap robes to donate. The home has made some suggestions as to items to donate for our veterans= shampoo- toothpaste-candy barsword search puzzle books-postage stampsdeodorant and individual wrapped snack items.
