There is a pattern for Christian living that Saint Paul wants others to discover and then imitate. This pattern includes a life of prayer, selflessness, sacrifice, and caring for others, including our family of faith. Good stewards choose their friends wisely. They cultivate friendships with other Christian stewards, spend time with them, observe how they live, ask questions about their faith and learn from them. Who are your friends? Are they good stewards of their faith? Are they those who can help you on your own journey of faith? 4 Dear Parishioners, The Gospel reading today is the story of the Transfiguration in which Moses and Elijah appear to Jesus and speak with him on the mountain. Jesus appearance and clothes became dazzlingly white. In the second reading from St. Paul to the Philippians we are told that as baptized followers of Jesus Christ we have our citizenship in heaven and we too will be made into the pattern of Jesus glorified resurrected body. We too shall become like Christ if we remain a loyal follower of his in our lives on earth. Whenever I pray the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary and get to the fourth decade of the Transfiguration of Christ, my intention is that those that I m praying for will be transfigured in this life by their thoughts, words and deeds into the image and likeness of Jesus Christ by the power of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In the Eucharistic Prayer III we pray that we be filled with the Holy Spirit and that we become one Body, one Spirit in Christ. During this Lenten Season let us strive to be more Christ like in our thoughts, words and deeds and upon reflections upon our lives that we can say to ourselves, Yes, I could sense God s presence in the midst of my life. Prayer and continual mental conversations with God can help us to be more Christ like in our thoughts, words and deeds. Our journey of life is not about living so many years or accumulation of material goods. Our journey of life is about becoming more conscious of being part of the Body and Spirit of Jesus Christ and displaying that in our thoughts, words and deeds. Retirement Party for Father Bob There will be a meeting for both parishes on Tuesday, March 19 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Parish Hall to begin discussing a retirement party for Fr. Bob. Parishioners from both parishes are invited to come start the planning process. St. Patrick s celebration by the Knight of Columbus 9400 Saint Patrick was a fifth-century Romano-British Christian missionary and bishop in Ireland. Known as the Apostle of Ireland, he is the primary patron saint of Ireland, the other patron saints being Brigit of Kildare and Columba. It is Saturday, May 11, 2019 at St. Pat s Hall. If you are doing some spring cleaning you can donate your used good items to the co-op. You may drop off the items at the co-op on any Thursday from 9:00-6:00 prior to the sale or the church hall the week prior to the sale.

Donations Needed The Community Food and Services Co-op is in ongoing need of your generous donations. The suggested item of donation for this month is SUGAR/FLOUR. You can place your donation in the boxes at the back of either St. Charles or St. Patrick s churches. Thank you for your support. For I was hungry and you fed me. Pop Tabs The 7th & 8th grade CCD class at St. Patrick s is collecting pop tabs until the end of March for St. Monica s in Africa. They use these tabs to make purses to sell to help support women and children who have been terrorized by the Lord s Resistance Army. One purse will support a women and child for three daily meals and water for six months. There is tubs in the vestibule of both churches for your tabs. If you would like to see some purses go to google and type in pop tab purses in Africa. Knights of Columbus Scholarship The General de Lafayette Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus will once again be awarding a $2000 scholarship to two High School Seniors in the Assembly area. This area covers the parishes of Crawfordsville, Lafayette, Otterbein, Oxford, West Lafayette and Central Catholic High School. Deadline for the application need to be postmarked by March 29, There are forms available in the parish office. The Knights are honored to be able to award these scholarships in order to assist the youth in their future endeavors. Adoration at Sacred Heart Substitutes are desperately needed for Adoration at Sacred Heart Chapel. The hours have been shortened to 9am - 11pm every Wednesday. Adorers are always needed too. Adoration is open to everyone.
