Let s ask the Lord to enlighten our minds, and give us His wisdom and discernment. Prayer is always the key! ( Ask and you will receive. Matthew 7:7) Respect Life Lord, from conception to the grave we are all yours! Please bless each of us, and remind us continually that every man, woman, and child on this earth was made in Your image and likeness. The Eucharist Jesus gesture at the Last Supper is the ultimate thanksgiving to the Father for His Love, for His Mercy. Thanksgiving in Greek is expressed as eucharist. That is why the Sacrament is called Eucharist: it is the supreme thanksgiving to the Father, who so loved us that He gave us His Son out of love. (Pope Francis General Audience: Saint Peter s Square- Wednesday, 5 February 2014) Words from Pope Francis I am always struck when I reread the parable of the merciful Father.The Father, with patience, love, hope, and mercy, had never for a second stopped thinking about his wayward son, and as soon as he sees him still far off, he runs out to meet him and embraces him with tenderness, the tenderness of God without a word of reproach.god is always waiting for us He never grows tired. Jesus shows us this merciful patience of God so that we can regain confidence and hope always! (Homily on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 7, 2013) Donations for Haiti Thanks to the Respect Life Committee for sponsoring our recent request for items for our brothers and sisters in Haiti. These men, women, and children struggle daily to have the basics of life those things we may take for granted. A special thanks to Marianne Sherle, one of our parishioners, who makes sure that all your donations make their way to these wonderful people. Marianne makes the connection with the Friar Suppliers Medical Mission, and she also travels to Haiti two times a year to help in their clinic. God bless each of you for your thoughtfulness, and God bless those who distribute your donations! ( Let all you do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14)

(Matthew 7:7) This scripture does not give us permission to sin, but lets us know that God s mercy is always there to Pick us up and dust us off if we just ask Him! Just a Thought A little humor We should pray every day, however simple the prayer. Let s pray even when we don t feel like praying. Prayer is our lifeline to God. (He loves to hear from His kids.) These words of Pope Francis highlight the growing crisis of persecution and extremism that Christians around the world are facing - and in some cases paying for with their lives. CATHOLICS FOR FREEDOM OF RELIGION INFANT JESUS FREEDOM OF RELIGION COMMITTEE are proud to announce a special presentation UPDATE ON RELIGIOUSFREEDOM IN NIGERIA By Father Anthony Ewherido, Ph.D. Every day we see news of countries where Christians and Jews are being attacked and even murdered in a widespread religious persecution unimagined in our lifetime. America s own religious freedom is so threatened that Pope Francis has warned about the Polite Persecution which removes religious freedoms through regulation and intimidation and forces people of faith to yield their freedom of conscience and religion. Awareness of the worldwide threats to religious freedom is critical to its defense. Father Anthony Ewherido, visiting Infant Jesus from Nigeria during the months of July and August, is the Vice Rector/ Registrar of the Seminary of Saint Peter and Paul in Ibadan, Nigeria. Two years ago, he gave us a very informative talk about the status of religious freedom in his home country, which has the largest population in Africa and the 20th largest economy in the world. He will now describe the present status of relations between the large Christian and Muslim populations and the effect of recent political and military changes on religious freedom in Nigeria.
