I am happy you re helping St. Mark s pay it s bills. Thanks to so many people who made Holy Week special and my life easier. Deacon Pat was there to make the celebration special all three days (stations on Friday, a beautiful but sad presentation. Sad to see what happened to Jesus because of His love for us.) Carrie and her choirs helped out at all the celebrations. Lynn Fein recruited the people for the foot washing. The altar servers were terrific. They had everything down perfectly (no small accomplishment. The services were very complex). Mrs. Minarik and Mrs. Silva are doing a great job with them. The ushers, the lectors, the E.M. s all helped. Betty Pizza was there early Saturday morning, like the women at the tomb, straightening out the linens and tidying up. Don Flynn, John McNamara, and Lynn Fein worked with the Confirmation candidates Richard and Joe. Jorge, the young man who was baptized, also worked with all three instructors. If I missed anyone I apologize. 4 April 3, 2016 The Roman Catholic Church of Saint Mark Page 4 Thought for the Week Today is Divine Mercy Sunday. This day reminds us of the merciful love of our God. He loves us immeasurably and unconditionally. When we get down on ourselves, we have to remember that we are always loved in spite of ourselves. What kind of love is that? We can t understand this kind of love, but listen to these words of sacred scripture: For I will forgive your evildoing, and remember your sins no more. (Hebrews 8: 12) As far as the east is from the west, so far have our sins been removed from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on His faithful. (Psalm 103:12 It is I, I who wipe out, for my own sake, your offenses; your sins I remember no more. (Isaiah 43:25) Wow! Why do we worry, when we have a God who is to willing to forgive us if we come to Him, asking for His forgiveness and mercy? Respect Life Prayer Lord, please protect all those you have created, and give Your strength and wisdom to those You have appointed to preserve our peace and security. The Eucharist As we receive Jesus in the Eucharist, let s ask Him to make us more like Him. (Let us become like the One whom who we have received!)
