We will serve birthday cake and beverages and you can learn more about the history and legacy of UMW. We will also share FUMC United Methodist Women local, state, and national mission initiatives. Save the Date: May 5 The annual John & Hazel Currie Memorial Concert will take place Sunday, May 5 at our church. Josh Wilson will be the featured artist with special guest Dave Mead. Admission is free and seating will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Dear Midland FUMC, I would like to thank the congregation for all the prayers, cards, and visits since Feb. 2, I am getting around with a cane. God is doing wonderful things in my life. Here are some newer items: Tiny Homes In a Big City by Faith Fowler: This is the story of Cass Community Social Services, a Detroit-based nonprofit that is in the process of building a neighborhood of 25 different Tiny Homes in the northwest part of Detroit. The homes are being built to allow extremely low-income individuals a way to eventually own their own homes. This is the only rent-then-own tiny home development in the U.S. Recapturing the Wesleys' Vision - An Introduction to the Faith of John and Charles Wesley by Paul Wesley Chilcote: Here is a full and clear introduction to the dynamic faith of John and Charles Wesley. The vital theology of John is skillfully gleaned from his voluminous writings. The corresponding faith of Charles is culled from his enduring hymns. Pockets Magazine: This is a monthly devotional magazine for children ages 6-12, published by The Upper Room. There are many issues available in a rack by the library door. The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris: This beautiful, illuminating tale of hope and courage is based on interviews that were conducted with Holocaust survivor and Auschwitz-Birkenau tattooist Ludwig (Lale) Sokolov. Buck Denver Asks...What's in the Bible? Children's DVD series: From VeggieTales creator, Phil Vischer, this 13 volume video series is a hilarious and groundbreaking new way to help your children learn about God, the Bible, and faith. UMW 2019 SPRING RUMMAGE SALE Start cleaning out your closets and recycling! The UMW Spring Rummage Sale will be April 28 through May 1.
