8 VOLUME 44, ISSUE 17 WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS April 29, 2018 FUMC Staff Changes The FUMC Staff-Parish Relations Committee has several personnel changes to share with our congregation: Rev. Len Clevenger, Administrative Pastor, will be leaving us at the end of June to pursue a new ministry aiding persecuted Christians around the world. Pastor Len has been at FUMC for nearly two years implementing and administering a new staff organizational structure, as well as performing clergy responsibilities. Pastor Len s passions are starting new churches (he was appointed to start a new church, Bay City Grace UMC, that grew to over 400 members in two years), and aiding Christians who are imprisoned by governments only because they are followers of Jesus. Pastor Len s extensive experience working internationally before ordained ministry will greatly aid his new ministry calling. Noel Contardi, current Volunteer Ministries Leader, is FUMC s new Administrative Director, taking over Pastor s Len administrative duties. Noel has a long history of administrative experience before coming to FUMC, having owned and operated two separate business operations. Noel will continue to provide direction to FUMC s Community Assistance program, led by Maureen, however, she will relinquish her Volunteer Ministries role. Kathy Hoffman is FUMC s new Volunteer Ministries Leader. Kathy is a long time, active FUMC member. Kathy s previous multifaceted involvement with committees and ministry activities and knowledge of the FUMC history and congregation makes her well qualified for her new Volunteer Ministries role. Kathy will co-lead the Lay Leadership committee this fall, with Rev. Dr. J. D. Landis, to fill committee and leadership positions. Tom Randolph s role as FUMC Sound Ministries Leader has been expanded to include the role of Information Technology Leader, taking over Pastor Len s information technology responsibilities. Tom has been FUMC s sound technician for nearly 30 years, and served as an information technology leader for several years at Consumer s Energy. FUMC is fortunate to be able to utilize Tom s IT experience. Please welcome Kathy and Tom to their news roles as part of the FUMC staff, congratulate Noel on her expanded role as our new Administrative Director, and pray for discernment, guidance, and safety as Pastor Len pursues his passion and starts a new journey in ministry and service to our gracious and loving God.
