This week s intention: For our priests and vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and religious life, and also for our area businesses and their workforces. In the Eucharist is all the power that created the universe and all the love that redeemed it! -Msgr. Franklin Hurd EUCHARISTIC ADORATION: We are asking a favor from those who come to pray before the Blessed Sacrament on Tuesdays. If you have finished your time of prayer and are ready to leave but there is no one else in the church, we would ask you to go to the Altar and place the cover that is there on the Altar over the monstrance. If you are coming to pray and find the cover on the monstrance, simply go to the Altar and remove it for your time of prayer. The Blessed Sacrament should never be exposed when there is no one present. Since there are occasions when this happens, we are proposing the cover as a solution. If you have any questions, please ask Deacon Don or Fr. Jim. Thank you for your cooperation and a special thanks for your prayer time before the Lord. It connects us with Jesus who connects us with one another. As we acknowledge our dependence on God, we see ourselves connected to each other in Jesus Christ. This connection is not only of this earth. Like God s love for us, it is eternal and connects us with those who have died. This spiritual work of mercy, to pray for the living and the dead, highlights the communion of saints, the reality of our eternal connection. It is the union of all of the members of the Church: those who are pilgrims on earth, those who have died and are preparing for heaven in purgatory, and the blessed in heaven, who are described as saints, thanks to their baptism. In our communion, we are called upon to pray for each other, an obligation that does not end with death. 5 COMMUNITY EVENTS CHARLEMAGNE: Sunday, November 13th at the Madawaska Senior Center from 1-3pm. Cost: $3 or $4 (Canadian). Lunch will be served. GRAND ISLE SENIOR CLUB LUNCHEON: Thursday, November 17th at 11am at the Grand Isle Community Center. This will be our Thanksgiving luncheon, turkey with all the trimmings. MEDICARE PART D: It is the time of the year for our seniors to take a good look at their Medicare Prescription Drug Plan also known as Part D. Since there are changes every year, it is important that you look over your plan. Monthly premiums are rising. A lot of people will be losing their extra help in January. It is also a good time to see if you qualify for the Medicare savings plan. This would help pay for your Part D plan. Even if you are satisfied with your current plan, you should check if there is another plan in your area that offers better coverage. Your cost throughout the year will depend on what medications you take, and whether there are any coverage restrictions. A different plan may lower co-pays, cover more of your meds, have fewer restrictions or offer some coverage during the coverage gap. This year any changes can only be made between Oct. 15 through Dec 7.
